Also Giant enemy crab needs no introduction. "
Poll: Worst E3 Press Conference in the past 5 years.
Okay stop this shit, I don't pretend to hate this E3 to seem cool in front of some internet people I don't even fucking know, I hate it because I'm sick of all this casual motion-control crap that everybody is jumping on" @Jeffsekai said:
" I fucking hate you guys, stop shitting all over motion controls just because they are motion controls. For what they are and say they will do, they do it. "/thread hating on E3, oh im so cool and edgy.... "
As I said in another thread:
" I hate motion controls, Kinect, Move, Wii whatever That's why I hate this E3, happy now? But I get it though, they saw what the Wii did and they want to make cash on the same casual crap aswell "
Yepp, your thread Jethuty, stop defending this crap
Microsoft's conference wasn't bad at all, I thought. Sure, it didn't appeal to hardcore gamers, but that's not who it was for. I'm not sold on the motion controls yet, but the tech looks promising. Even the Giant Bomb reaction has been carefully optimistic about it.
Sure, any motion control games are going to look silly because people look silly when they're playing them. But one thing that came through pretty clearly was that the people playing them looked like they were having fun. And games are about fun. Hardcore gamers are going to have to get used to the idea of the Xbox not just being a hardcore platform, and that means putting up with game demos that simply do not appeal to you. Qualitatively, it was significantly better than Nintendo's 2008 conference, where the games looked horrible. I'm not in the demographic for the games Microsoft showed off, but I'm not so blinded by that that I can't see the very real appeal those games will have for casual gamers.
I thought MS 2010 was good. I wanted to see them justify Kinect and I feel like they did, if it wasn't for Wii exclusives like Zelda and Mario I would care less about the Wii now, Kinect trumped them good, imo.
I liked the Gears3, Reach, Rising, Black Ops, and surprise Kingdoms game. The new Xbox looks great too, even if I don't need it. I like how it looks and there is no power brick, wifi-n, 250GB hdd, etc.
It was a surprising conference, but it was informative. How is that a fail?
" If you think this year's Microsoft conference was the worst, you're an idiot. "If you have a different opinion than me, you're an idiot.
I think people are being overly harsh on Microsoft this year. There was a massive focus on the casual side, but at the very least they showed some great 'core' games.. the footage for Reach, Fable 3, Gears and Rising was all very impressive and their technology for Kinect was again, very impressive even if it was focused more on the non-gamer side of things. And we got a complete rebrand of the 360 image, including a new (working!) Xbox being unvieled.
Wasn't their best show, but worst E3 ever? Not even close.
In comparasion, Nintendo 2008 had virtually no games and was instead comprised of boring PR talk and sales charts. They didn't have any new techology or anything remotely impressive.
And again, Sony in 2006 had nothing impressive on show except for a few concepts blatently ripped off Microsoft and Nintendo. Games were dull, more PR talk, technology was nothing we hadn't seen and prices were extortionate.
This thread has made me realize that watching E3 press conferences is made more entertaining by all of the awful press conferences. As for worst - we've still got several days to go for this year, so I think it's a bit early to really have a poll like this yet. On top of which, while the Microsoft conference this year wasn't 'exciting' I really don't know that I would put it anywhere near the Sony or Nintendo ones. Or even this year's Ubisoft one for that matter.
You Microsoft haters are such die-hard fanboys of the 'hard-core'. First of all, before the Kinect presentation, you got Halo, Gears, Metal Gear, the Crytek game, and more.
The Kinect stuff might have been silly, but the tech behind it was impressive, and the 'real' games for it like Dance Central and the Forza one were good.
In conclusion, shut the fuck up (I've had to type that about 10 times since the keynote ended).

" Id vote Nintendo 08, though really Nintendo hasnt had a good conference in years. 09 was pretty awful as well. "They at least had some great games on show that year.
Golden Sun, Galaxy 2, NSMB, etc.
Though the conference itself was still dire.
Out of those? Nintendo, it wasn't even hilariously bad. It was just bad.
But currently the Ubi 2010 conference is my favorite thing in the world... such a fucking boondoggle.

"Why don't you shut the fuck up, this is a video game forum and we are all entitled to having an opinion on what we see. If the majority of the people here don't like a certain part of a conference I'm pretty damn sure that means something.
Sony 2006. While others have sucked due to crappy games shown or not enough interesting stuff for us, that sony one, man, they just kept putting their foot in their mouths. I dont see what was so bad about the MS one. We may think it was bad as fans of video games, but remember, this is a trade show, they are trying to show vendors and developers what their hardware can do and what they will put out, not try to appease those of us in the know.
" @Jeffsekai said:I know, just because you aren't interested in something doesn't automatically make it a piece of shit, just means it isn't for you." I fucking hate you guys, stop shitting all over motion controls just because they are motion controls. For what they are and say they will do, they do it. "I'm just not interested in it. The controller has worked well enough for a long time. "
The Kinect stuff was just meh. It wasn't horrible, and they DID have some great games to show demos of, so its definitely not Microsoft 2010. Now, Ubisoft 2010 started good, with the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood stuff. But after that... Jesus Christ... Ubisoft was the worst ever, no doubt.
Well i liked them, and felt them really good." @Jeffsekai said:

I think the inclusion of Microsoft's 2010 is trolling.
" @Lind_L_Taylor: $599 PS3 and giant crabs from historically accurate ancient Japan "LOL...Oh yeah...looking back it sounds pretty ridiculous to
pay $600 for a gaming conosole...I feel sorry for fans of
Sorny, paying double what I paid for the 360, but with
fewer games.
Nintendo has usually been boring as hell but this year they stepped up. The real loser for this year is MS. Awesome exclusives at the beginning but the rest is boring shit with kinect.
" I thought MS 2010 was good: Halo, Gears, Crackdown, Fable, Kingdoms, Kinect (it works), 360 slim. What was so bad? "I guess it depends on what kind of gamer you are. Halo, Gears, and Fable are all games I loved... 2 or more iterations ago. Crackdown 2 is genuinely something I'm looking forward to. Kingdoms.. no idea what to think, because I'm not exactly sure what it is. Kinect games thus far seem underwhelming, and I'm not about to sink another good chunk of money into something like that for the potential it holds.
