Cheap asses who don't buy any dlc are getting screwed with the achievement system. Some one has to buy every dlc addon if they want a S rank. I suggest that a user receives a S rank for completing the original 1000/1000 points for a game, and a SS rank if they complete all the achievements including the dlc. What say you?
S ranks and SS ranks in the achievement system
This would be a good idea. In fact, I was just thinking about this today, although on the larger scale of Xbox LIVE as a whole. I was thinking that instead of a patch updating a game's total gamerpoints, the DLC should do that. For example, if you have all the Fallout 3 achievements (but no expansions) your gamerscore for that game will be 1000/1000, but when you buy Broken Steel, your gamerscore will update to 1000/1250, but only after you buy the DLC. That would make things much less frustrating.
I agree, that would be awesome. Last night I just got all Of Lost Odyssey's Achievements (W/O DLC) and it still come up as 100% on my completed games list on my games section of the dashboard, but not Mass Effect nor Oblivion (Even though I have the extra 50 points for the first ME DLC). It doesnt make any sense to me.
If someone surpassed 1000 using a combination of original achievements and DLC achievements, but didn't get all of the original achievements, would the system count it as an S-rank? I think it shouldn't.
" @Dalai said:I was just about to say, "maybe SS might be a little insensitive be considered a rank of honour", S+ Rank I'm all in favour of seeing as I got 1000/1000 in Tomb Raider and I'll be damned If I'm spending more on the cost DLC than I did for the game! (£2 incidentally)" I'd go with a S+ rank... gives it that new game plus vibe to it. "That is a better idea. SS reminds me of The Third Reich; S+ is a more, calmer title. And a plus sign on anything always means something is awesome. "
" @jakob187: Actually, you're probably right about the API capabilities. But this feature would obviously be for those who care about GB's achievement system in the first place. "I care about GB's achievement system. = D Hell, I quit playing WoW because of it!!! I have new purpz to get!
Nonetheless, I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool to have an S+ rank or something. I'm just saying that I personally know if I've got 1K in a game, and I don't think that it's something the guys have much control over. If they do, though, it would be cool. I'm sure they've got more important fish to fry, but ya never know.
i'd say suck it up, does it really matter that much?
i mean i enjoy completing games as the next person for achievements, but i dont' really care that mich.
