I think so. Reading text doesn't cut it in this time and age. At least to me anyway.
Should the Zelda series finnaly get VO in them?
The zelda series has really lost me lately but it has nothing to do with the VO. I'm just tired of playing the same game over and over. That being said i say no because it would probably be horrible
It's kind of odd, but I've never had a problem with the text. Maybe because it allows my imagination to fill in much of the emotion. The series is also good at facial expression / body language changes and cuing music at appropriate times to compliment the text.
Absolutely. There's been some charming characters here and there, so i'd love if they have equally charming voice work to accompany them. They could keep the text so the dialogue plays out in a similar fashion to oblivion/fallout or something, minus the dialogue choices and whatnot.
No. It's part of the charm for the Zelda series to be pretty minimalist.

What exactly does an "emo" voice sound like?

It's kinda ridiculous in this day and age to see a big-budget action-adventure game and it doesn't have voice acting in it.
It's not like Nintendo will somehow crap it up and get horrendous voice-actors for Link, Zelda and the rest. But they have to stop living in the early 90s and eventually come to terms with this whole "voice acting" thing. I'm not saying that Nolan North has to be Link or anything, but there is a way that you can have voice acting and still keep the "mininalist" story telling style of the Zelda series.
If you cannot tell, this is a vote for "yes".

I think it would be awesome to have a fully voiced Zelda game, but they'd better work on the story first. Most Zelda games don't really have that great of a story, in my opinion.
Also, was there a reason why this was posted in General Discussion rather than here?: http://www.giantbomb.com/the-legend-of-zelda/62-9/forums
Edit: I had meant to put the first phrase of my post on another forum, don't know how it ended up here, but I deleted it, so that this post would actually make some sense.
Didn't watch the video, did you? (Yes, I know Nintendo wasn't involved in making the game, but still...)
I'll say yes, but only under strict conditions.
1. No voice acting in games like wind waker, 'realistic' zelda's only
2.Must be able to turn it on and off.
3. Must be good.
If they didn't do all of them, then i wouldn't care for it
There would be outrage over Link's voice. Bad idea imo.
Maybe they could go for the whole silent protagonist thing, that could work.
Ocarina of Time is one of my all time favourite games, and even playing it in this day and age, the fact it has no voice acting seems to suit it. I think if Nintendo were to do full VO for a new Zelda game, they would have to get it absolutely spot on, and I think it would be very easy for them to fuck it up.
" @Video_Game_King:I think your entire argument is null because you think that there's some sort of Mario canon.
I knew about the CD-i games, they're horrendous, but those don't count IMO. It's like counting Hotel Mario and Wrecking Crew as canon Mario games. "
I don't see why everyone is so pessimistic about a Zelda game with voice acting in it. I thought the voice overs in Metroid Prime 3 worked well. Link can still remain the silent protagonist if Nintendo so chooses, since he never speaks through text or otherwise, but I don't see why having other characters speak in the game is so upsetting.
I think I remember NOA saying that if the next Zelda had VO parts — they would make sure to carefully pick out the best of the best.
Maybe, but only if Link is still mute. He should stay silent except for grunts since he represents the player.
" It's kinda ridiculous in this day and age to see a big-budget action-adventure game and it doesn't have voice acting in it.This is pretty much exactly how I feel about it. Good voice acting makes an excellent game even better and Nintendo has the cash for good voice work.

It could be cool if it had VO. As long as Link didn't talk that is. So I voted yes.
Willy105 has a point... what is the last Nintendo game that had VO's in it? I can't think of one in all honesty. Almost all of their big characters are silent, or are like Mario and just make "Wa"s and "Hoo"s

I think Link should remain silent, because what we can conjure in our minds is far more powerful, but others should speak.
What a strange argument. You have no problems with there being graphics, I assume? Or a story? Music? Ambience and sound effects in general? You have no problems with those blanks being filled in for you, you specifically want to imagine what everyones voices sound like." Why don't people like to use their imagination any more? "
Using your imagination is a bullshit argument for video games.
