So do you guys, if you have any, have a massive backlog of games to go through.

Xbox 360-

  • Alpha Protocol
  • Bourne Conspiracy
  • Darkness II
  • Dragon Age 2
  • Fable 3
  • Fallout New Vegas
  • Lost Odyssey
  • Mass Effect 3 (But I'm just waiting for the extended edition dlc, then I'll play through it.)
  • Skyrim
  • Witcher 2
  • Nier
  • The Saboteur
  • Prince Of Persia (2008)

The last two I'm actually going through currently.

PS3

  • Alice: Madness Returns
  • Demon Soul's
  • Deus Ex
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Yakuza 3
  • Infamous 2
  • Vanquish
  • Killzone 3

That's a long ass list and partly the reason I haven't tackled them so far is I'm in the process of studying for exams and don't have a lot of time for them now. Afterwards, I should have enough free-time to make a dent in them and shorten the list.

Any of you guys have a long backlog as me and trying to get through them? Post your list here!

Through Steam and Desura, yes, and I'm not going through it too well (IE at all).

#3 Posted by Soap (3595 posts) -

I think my backlist might actually be to big to post here, I might actually have a go at it in a bit though

#4 Posted by connerthekewlkid (1838 posts) -

how far are you in lost Odyssey?

#5 Posted by Dunchad (494 posts) -

Yeah. I just had a peek at my Steam library and started counting games I hadn't finished (or even started), but which I intend to finish eventually. I stopped counting at 30.

#6 Posted by TaliciaDragonsong (8699 posts) -

I feel scared when I even think of making a list of unfinished/unstarted games.

So I won't, instead just play some more Diablo to get rid of the guilty feeling.

#7 Posted by Aronman789 (2676 posts) -

I went through my steam and my counting got screwed up somewhere around 60

#8 Posted by BeachThunder (11989 posts) -

I have a 99 game backlist on Steam & a 31 game backlist on GOG. Then of course there are the other games I have...

#9 Posted by TorpidCat (9 posts) -

I use a website called Backloggery, where you put in all your games and whether you've finished them or not. According to it I have 33 unbeaten games, though some of that is just DLC

#10 Posted by ervonymous (1297 posts) -

287 unfinished games according to backloggery. I quit updating statuses a while ago but there's a few.

#11 Edited by Sean2206 (264 posts) -

My list id games I just missed when they came out and the list goes as follows:

Xbox 360

  • Dead Space 1 + 2
  • Darksiders
  • Rayman Origins
  • MGS: HD Collection
  • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
  • The Witcher 2
  • Asura's Wrath
  • Prototype 2
  • Trials Evolution
  • Max Payne 3
  • Game of Thrones (I'm still willing to give it a try)

Wii

  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • No more heroes 2

On top of some upcoming games and DLC:

  • Sleeping Dogs
  • Dawnguard
  • Spec ops the Line
  • ME3 Extended cut and any other ME Single-Player DLC

And Pokemon Black

I also recently signed up for steam and hope to get into some PC games and I might add Darkness II and Dragon age 2 to that list on top of un-finished games like Deus ex:HR, Shank 2, Joe Danger:SE and DA:Origins which I am almost finished with.

A fairly large amount of games and I doubt I'll get through them all any time soon.

#12 Posted by Rohok (554 posts) -

Mines way bigger.

#13 Posted by cgeare (35 posts) -

I still haven't finished the last few missions for GTAIV on my steam account if that gives any indication. Too many games. So many games. I've talked with my friends about this issue. It gets harder and harder for me to spend the amount of time it takes to get through a whole game these days. Too busy trying to shred it up at this gnarly meta-game called being an adult. It can eat up all your time. The fact I don't have time to play games lately is a bummer but it's also a good thing in some ways.

#14 Posted by theoldhouse (439 posts) -

used to have an immense backlog but I have managed to narrow it down to about 20 odd games this past year.

Currently playing: Syndicate, Golden sun dark dawn and deadmuns quest for move ( yeah it kinda sucks but I'm going to finish it dammit)

#15 Edited by Irvandus (2880 posts) -

Here's what I can remember off my head.

  1. Kotor (I replay it every year but haven't gotten to it yet this year)
  2. Persona 3 FES (Same deal)
  3. The Witcher
  4. Cave Story
  5. Shank
  6. Uncharted 2
  7. Batman Arkham Asylum
  8. Metro 2033
  9. Infamous
  10. Titan Quest
  11. Tales of Vesperia
  12. Darksiders
  13. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

The list isn't as bad as it used to be, I cleared out must of my unfinished games last year.

This summer is a wasteland for new releases so gonna start playing through some backlog myself. After I'm done S-Ranking lollipop chainsaw that is.

#17 Posted by zudthespud (3281 posts) -
#18 Posted by me3639 (1765 posts) -

Always backlog. Just started F.E.A.R 3 and i still have a boat load of 3's to finish which includes:

  • Killzone 3
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Resistance 3
  • Uncharted 3
  • Assassins Creed Brotherhood(3)

And there is still Batman AC, Fez, Bastion, Deus EX HR, Singularity, Metro 2033, and so many others. So great to be a gamer these days.

#19 Posted by Guided_By_Tigers (8061 posts) -

No I don't have a backlog.....I'm actually replaying some older games to mop up achievements.

#20 Posted by PandamanNorth (3 posts) -

I have a few to go through.

  • Assassins Creed Brotherhood
  • Persona 3 & 4
  • Metro 2033
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Batman Arkham City
  • Gemini Rue

Also I still have to go through the other major path in Witcher 2 (did Iorverth's, just started Roche's path). Not to mention the sports and racing games played in between, so a lot of time to sink this summer.

I have a REALLY bad habit of buying things on sale on steam/origin and then completely forgetting about it. These are just some of the bigger titles I've bought, most of which I have never even installed, let alone booted up:

Darksiders

The Darkness II

Mass Effect III

The Witcher

The Witcher II

Back to the Future

Half-life 2 + Episodes

Just Cause 2

Mafia 2

Supreme Commander 2

Fallout 3

Plus many MANY more, mainly indie titles such as Bastion, Magika and a whole ton of games on GOG I bought on whim. I guess this is one of the benefits of being a reluctant teetotaler (don't like the taste of alcohol, wish I did) is that I have spare cash to burn on games.

#22 Posted by BulletproofMonk (2722 posts) -

Not a massive, but there are some. Valkyria Chronicles, Asura's Wrath and the Digital Devil Saga games are at the top of my list right now.

#23 Posted by Slag (4455 posts) -

Probably over 100 titles.

#24 Posted by Danteveli (1187 posts) -

200 on steam about 100 on desura and 100 on gamersgate plus alot stuff on gamecube. I'm not counting unfinished games on ps2 and so on.

#25 Edited by nickux (1385 posts) -
#26 Posted by c0l0nelp0c0rn1 (1808 posts) -

I have over 100+ unfinished games. I'm very good at buying games, but not so good at playing through them.

#27 Posted by Icemo (643 posts) -

Too long backlog that will get longer after Steam summer camp sale 2012...

#28 Posted by Carryboy (685 posts) -

About 50 games.

#29 Posted by A_Dog (744 posts) -

I probably have about 40, of which I'm hoping to cut into during the rest of summer. So far I've beat Silent Hill 2 and Rayman Origins.

I think I'm going to play Wind Waker next.

Other than that I have probably 50 or so games on steam that I'll never play, mainly stuff from indie bundles.

#30 Posted by MikkaQ (10294 posts) -

There isn't enough space on the Giantbomb servers to store my backlog. Yes, it's somehow bigger than a game wiki.

#31 Posted by SgtGrumbles (1024 posts) -

I just re-bought Enslaved and Far Cry 2 as well as Castlevania Lords of Shadow all at once, also got Vanquish and Metro 2033 sitting on a shelf…

#32 Posted by iam3green (14390 posts) -

i have a couple of games that i never got to finish. i'm slowly working on them. i also just bought two games, graw 2, and pure.

#34 Posted by Skytylz (4033 posts) -

Steam made my backlog too big to actually make it through it actually makes me play a little less because I just don't know what to play.

#35 Posted by JustPlainLucas (31 posts) -

Yes, mine is huge. I use backloggery.com, which is a pretty useful tool, to keep track of my completed and unfinished games. As of today, I have 217 games to finish. I suggest anyone who has a massive backlog sign up at backloggery.com, as it's rather handy. I'm JustPlainLucas over there too, if you wish to add me.

#36 Posted by Kiri90 (257 posts) -

PS3

Batman Arkham City

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Killzone 3 (70% just haven't gone back to it)

Xbox 360

Skyrim (only 1/3 through the main quest)

Call of Duty Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 campaigns

Max Payne 3 (currently playing, but at a frustrating part)

Fable 3 (no intention of playing, didn't really like what I played)

Red Dead Redemption (can't believe I haven't finished that yet)

Steam

Darksiders

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

Borderlands

The Witcher 2

Now thanks to the Humble Bundle: Limbo, Psychonauts and Amnesia: The Dark Descent

#37 Posted by InfiniteSpark (309 posts) -

Yup, I have a good chunk to go through, probably over 20 games. I'm doing my best to just purely focus on a game or two and hack away at those, then move on to the next.

Right now, I'm locked in with Devil Survivor 2 and Atelier Rorona.

#38 Posted by Daveyo520 (6790 posts) -

I do but I still keep buying games. I don't see me getting though it any time soon.

I think I'm more than 80 games behind, even if I exclude the indies.

It seems like I will be able to catch up though. Its more an issue where I more or less stopped playing in 1999-ish (lots of team fortress than warcraft for a long time) and went back to buy everything that appealed to me on all platforms. Current priorities are Diablo III, all Halo games, and Final Fantasy XIII.

Edit: 228 games on steam, 17 xbox 360, 8 PS3, 4 Wii, 2 Gamecube, 10 gamersgate. Oh jeez, maybe I'm not catching up.

#41 Edited by MEATBALL (3263 posts) -

My backlog in terms of games I actually care about finishing (my Steam library alone is full of games I've barely touched, but most of them I don't really care about):

  • Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning
  • The Longest Journey
  • Xenoblade Chronicles
  • Pandora's Tower (haven't cracked it open yet, but bought it right away to support the game's localisation)
  • Nier
  • Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2
  • Metroid Prime 2 Wii
  • Alan Wake's American Nightmare
  • Rayman Origins
  • Vanquish
  • Binary Domain (at the very least I want to play some more of it)
  • Ghost Trick
  • Resident Evil Revelations
  • Batman Arkham City DLC

Games currently in rotation: Lollipop Chainsaw, Gravity Rush, Warhammer 40k Space Muhreen, Motorstorm Apocalypse (thanks for those last two, Playstation Plus).

Aaand I just picked up 3D Dot Game Heroes after stumbling upon it on the cheap, we'll see if I get around to cracking it open anytime soon. :P

Hoping to get some done over the upcoming drought, but that Skyrim expansion is just around the corner and I'm quaking in my boots.

#42 Posted by Cathryn (547 posts) -

My backlog is always pretty enormous and never really gets any smaller: http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/cathryn/my-backlog/46-25963/

There are also a few other games I have in mind that I don't actually own yet. This year's a pretty slow one for me when it comes to new releases, so I'm hoping to make some good progress on the backlog over the summer and fall.

#43 Posted by ch3burashka (5087 posts) -

I have appr. 90 games yet to install in my Steam list. Plus about 20 PS2 games I bought used and never got around to playing.

#44 Posted by DeF (4903 posts) -

you think that's a long-ass list? try the 259 games I have marked "unfinished/unplayed" in my backlog^^. they've piled up over the years, it seems...

#45 Posted by mracoon (4972 posts) -

I posted a blog about this the other day. I'm trying to work through my 360/XBLA backlog as that's something I could realistically accomplish this summer. I consider games I bought on Steam and haven't play yet as part of my futurelog as I might want to play them some time in the future.

#46 Posted by DarkShaper (1338 posts) -

My back log is crazy right now. Currently, I am looking at my games collection and I really want to get back to a ton of them, some of these are shameful that I haven't finished them.

  • Darksiders
  • Dark Souls
  • Dead Island
  • El Shaddai
  • MGS4
  • Uncharted 3
  • Vanquish
  • Space Marine
  • Persona 3 (Classics)

PC:

  • Anmesia
  • Ben There Dan That
  • Cave Story
  • Dead Space 1 & 2
  • Limbo
  • Lone Survivor
  • Sequence
  • Sword and Sorcery
  • Zeno Clash

Mine's probably over 50.

#48 Posted by JJOR64 (19003 posts) -

#49 Posted by Aetheldod (3594 posts) -

Well mine is no longer that long , unfortunately most of the are RPGS D:!!!!! Baldurs Gate , Planetscape torment , temple of elemental evil , The Witcher , The Witcher 2 , Last Remnant , Persona 3 , Skyrim (well the main quest ... almost there tho) Fallout New Vegas , Freescape 2 , Lone Survivor , Amnesia The dark decent , Braid , Far Cry 2 .... Hexen Heretic and Hexen 2. Not too many ^___^

#50 Posted by Ghost_of_Perdition (735 posts) -

Not really. I have The Witcher 2, Assassin's Creed Revelations, and The Darkness II on hold. I might pick up Borderlands, Metro 2033, and Hitman: Blood Money during the summer.
