What is your FAVORITE core Mario game? (Question of the Day 8-22-10)

I'm not a fan of Mario games.

Super Mario 64. The peak of the series.

Only played Super Mario 64. And one Mario party game on the gameboy colour to which I can't remember the name of. I remember one of the games was Mario and Luigi placing pies on different escalators all while trying to keep them from falling off as they reach the end, placing them on the higher up escalator.

I don't know what to vote for because I'm torn between World, Galaxy, and Galaxy 2.

64 was like magic, if magic was a hallucinatory drug.

The non japan Mario 2. No doubt.

I like the RPG games the best, with the Mario & Luigi games on top. I am not much of a platformer.

WORLD.

Super Mario World. I spent more time with that game than any other Mario game.

Super Mario World! 

Damn, that's a tough choice.  On any given day, it could be Super Mario World, Mario Galaxy 2, or Mario 64.  I went with World purely out of nostalgia's sake.

World, then Yoshi's Island, then SMB3, then SMB1, then Mario64, then probably NSMBWii and so on...

World, because it was my first and I grew up with it.

Super Mario World.

Super Mario World, the proverbial sweet spot of Mario games. For me at least.

Super Mario 64. I still play it today. It changed how I view video games.

Super Mario World. Frankly, there are some spots of Mario 64 that are a little rough, whereas I find SMW to hold up just as well today as it did in 1991. SMB 3 doesn't have a save feature, which sort of kills it for me.
 
Oh, and anyone who voted for Sunshine is a filthy liar. Unless the only Mario game they have ever played is Sunshine.

SMB3.

I'd go with World, then Sunshine.

Super Mario 3.

It's a toss-up between 64 and World. As long as 3 doesn't win, I'm happy.

Mario 64, closely followed by Yoshi's Island, that game just has something magical.

" Super Mario Bros 3. Best game ever made in the world ever that is the bestest!  I cannot stand Mario 64, I can never understand the love for it. "

Super Mario World is winning? I am so disappointed... 
 
I think SMB3 is infinitely better.
