Why do girls = fake men?

Why do some many people on here think that a girl on this site or any where online would be a guy in disguise? 
Why would guys pretend to be girls in the first place?

Because guys always pretend to be girls on the internet. And the chances of that being the case are quite high.

Because the majority of gamers are male, so people assume that all gamers are male.

A site about video games.  A hobby typically dominated by men.  The internet.  That's why.

I know a couple girls irl who pretend to be boys on this very forum! It works both ways although probably not in equal amounts ^^

Most of the time we don't doubt other girls because they have their own picture in their picture gallery, we know they are actually female. You keep telling everyone your suppose to be female, we are doubting you because your desperately trying to convince others.

I always assumed that they did it just to fuck with the guys. Not to fuck the guys, just fuck with the guys. Yeah.
 
Personally, my main in WoW is a lady. Her name is Vagia so most people are able to tell straight-away that I'm a dude. It works out well.

Usually imitators are just the ones that are vocal about being a girl. There are plenty of female users on this site. You just don't hear about them because they don't advertise it. I assume you're being accused for your generic user name stating "girl" in it and a personality adjective to boot. I don't really care if you are or not, to be honest. I just need to know who would rather be referred to as "she" if I post about them.

The people who are most worried about such things create posts and draw attention to themselves to prove that they are in fact, women.

I'm a bit confused here.  While I agree with the point of someone who constantly proclaims they are a girl unprovoked does point at them being actually a guy, I couldn't find any cases of he/r doing so in he/r forum history outside of the initial "be my friend" thread.  And that was actually made in response to a "girl=guy in real life" comment.  So, where are those sentiments coming from, selective reading?

Do you realize that we do have actual females on this site? Active members, even? They don't make a big deal about it though, and attitudes like that would make it quite difficult for them if they did make a big deal about it. "

I think it is because guys act so stupid when they think a girl virtually around.  So some guys want that attention.  It doesn't make any sense but then again half the crap online doesn't make any sense.  So there ya go.
