Why dosen't the Giant Bomb community use real profile pictures?

Never use my real picture on the internet, not here, not anywhere. See absolutely no reason to start now.

I don't use a photo of myself anywhere (including Facebook, which I also have under a fake last name) because I like a sense of anonymity. I'm not doing anything on Giant Bomb that would require a personal photo or my full name. I've also been stalked/harassed in the past online when I did put my full name/personal picture out there, and I don't wish to repeat the experience.

1. I don't have any photos of myself.

2. I don't want real life information in any form to be easily linked with my username.

3. It's boring, I want to pick something that looks good.

4. It locks me down from being creative with it.

5. Miki is cuter than I am.

I am Claude, pretty much. My icon is Space Station Silicon Valley. Yeah, that be where we live....

Funny enough I have a picture of me here on GB, but not on facebook. But then again, I never use facebook.

The internet has just taught me to not trust anyone with anything personal. This is how I post all my images. See, I'm Hershel Walker and I met this blurry guy.

My photo is an abstract version of myself in vector art. I do have a real picture of me on my profile but I don't think anybody here cares what I look like.

Honestly, I never thought of avatars as pictures of yourself, I mean, you can do that, but I just find it boring.

I like to identify people by the crazy ass pictures they use. Its more fun/creative to me. Yeah, I'm ugly, but I don't even care at this point.

Profile picture is generally always my face. However avatar wise, never. Not only do I prefer the art of avatar creation, but I wouldn't want my face on every post from me.

Are you people crazy? Don't you know that you lose a piece of your soul every time someone takes a picture of you with one of those Devil's inventions? I prefer to keep mine intact, so I always hide or leave the room when someone so much as thinks about taking pictures.

And yeah, seeing someone's ugly mug won't tell me much about them, but their chosen avatar might.

I tried to once, but everyone started vomiting and praying to deities to end their suffering, so I thought I should take it down...

There are pictures of me knocking around, if you know where to look.

I prefer being a burger, though.

Nothing wrong with it but i dont see much point on a video games site.

I don't really think its a Giantbomb thing, most people use handles online. I'm too lazy to come up with one so I just use my name and picture.

Cause I think sprite dudes, and panda bears are dope. Also I don't want anyone to know that I'm actually a lizard person.

I changed my profile pic this one a while back before I deployed overseas. Don't really want to change to anything else now.

Bob Ross on Giant Bomb is too far-fetched for you?

I do it because I actually have a good photo of myself on hand. I'm sure if I only had bad photos of myself or a lot of photos to sort through to find one then I would use something else.

My profile pic is actually a photo of me. Just a little bit edited.

While my avatar is usually a guy I like, I do use an actual profile pic of myself.

It's exposure to too much photography classes (love taking photos just not of myself), can never seem to like any photos taken of me so definitely not going to put something up here online when I can just go with some great games instead.

I've been around the interwebs for awhile now. If you'd seen the shit that I've seen, you wouldn't want your face anywhere near this madness.

I just don't want to make anyone feel jealous. My good looks are real burden to bear, sure they get free coffee, meal or massage once in while, but the negative feelings they create are really bad for the chi.
