Considering the rush to get the 360 out in the market, and all the faults that lead with it, I'm most likely not going to buy the next xbox at launch. At the same time as I'll get a working xbox, that'll save me the hassle of sending it to Berlin or whereever, AND I save some money because of price cuts. I might go for the PS4 at launch though.
Btw, I meant to type "at launch" but there's no edit button :P
Will you buy the next xbox on launch?
Any Nintendo console is pretty much a day one for me. A Sega system, was day one. Sony had day one with PS1, as soon as I could fine one with PS2, and a year after launch for PS3. ALl have something in common, games I wanted when I bought them or shortly thereafter. Xbox rarely has games I want, it is year 4 for the 360 right? ANd this year it finally has enough games to warrant the purchase that aren't Live Arcade games.
I think I will. Also, anyone that voted no because of the last Microsoft launch are liars. Of course everyone will be praying that things wont go that horribly wrong again but when the next console generation comes around nobody will care about last gen. Everyone will just want the newest stuff unconditionally.
Buying any console on launch is generally a bad idea since it's too expensive at the time, there maybe hardware faults and there aren't many games for them. So no.
I mean maybe not DAY OF LAUNCH because it is normally a little to crazy but when I can get somewhere that isn't going to be swamped, hell yes I am going to buy it. I mean unless the launch just has crap games which I highly doubt, but this isn't happening for awhile so nothing for anyone to worry about.
No, simply because I'm a lot poorer now than I was when the 360 launched. I waited a year last time, im probably going to have to wait a longer time next go around.
Well both my 360 and my 60GB Launch PS3 have died. But my Xbox was repaired for free, my PS3 I had to effectively downgrade and get the slim.
So I will be happy to buy on launch provided there is something I want to play on it.
As long as they continue to have the games I want with the best controller/online service.
I've had a bunch systems break over the years and microsoft is the only one that ever fixed it for free.
When my Dreamcast died Sega tried to charge a crazy price.
When all three of the ps2s I ever owned died (only kept rebuying because it was the house dvd player as well) Sony basically laughed at me when I tried to get a replacement.
Wii died in less than a year Nintendo still charged me.
When my 3 year old 360 died I got a box and a free fix.
Not to mention the horror stories my roommate has about his ps3 issues and having to pay sony 150$! TWICE.
Hell even if the xbox 360 successor has a 100% failure rate as long as the fix is free I know I trust them the most from past experiences.
