Figures only one other person would have played Ghost Trick (at least from what it seems)... And people like to complain about games no longer being unique.
come on man, it's probably at #5-6 for me... It was just kinda easy and didn't last all that long.
1. Deus Ex-prequel to my favorite game of all time. Return to form. 2. Resistance 3-My favorite Sony exclusive franchise, love the new mood. 3. Infamous 2-Straight up fun to play.
Alot of love for Deus Ex in here, I might just rent it again because of everyone saying how great it is. Does it get any better after the first boss battle? Because I didn't really dig it and sent it back.
Granted I haven't played Deus Ex: Human Revolution, L.A. Noire, inFAMOUS 2, or The Witcher 2 (though I probably won't be playing that for a long while.) I'd have to say out of all the games so far, it'd be Dead Space 2. Upon all three of those games releases I kind of hesitated to get those since they ended up not looking quite as interesting as I thought, but I still want to play them 'cause they're kind of considered to be the bigger games to come out this year so far.
Anyways, I loved the first Dead Space to the extent that it's in my top five favorite games of all time (it probably being first), and I love the second. Awkwardly, the first Dead Space has slightly more replay value considering I played it almost every week from its 2008 release, to this year's Dead Space 2, but ironically I've only beaten the first Dead Space six times (five times on PS3, once on PC), and I'm on my ninth go on DS2. It's a different kind of replay value I'd say.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution has been the best game I have played this year; mind you, I haven't played the Witcher 2 yet.
I have a feeling Skyrim, Uncharted 2, Saints Row 3, or Batman Arkham City will surpass it to gain GOTY though. Like I said though, so far, Deus Ex is the one I have enjoyed playing most, and the storyline is out of this world.
Had an absolute blast playing through that one. Not the game of the year, but by far it's the game from 2011 that I'll always remember, quote & come back to each time.
I do remember playing a lot of Terraria tho, that's 2011. Favorite game so far, top of my head, Deus Ex HR. But I have not yet played Witcher 2 (waiting for xbox) or that probably would be it. And with Gears3/Saints3/Zelda/etc coming...shit, ask me again later.
Portal 2 and Bastion so far. Probably Dead Island as well, but unfortunately I haven't bought the (still?) broken PC version just yet - looks like crazy amounts of fun though.

I forgot LA Noire. I don't care about the recent blahblah blah now we think it sucks, I consider it a very good game. The troubles tainting it are another thing.
The only 2011 game I've played is Killzone 3 and I only played the multiplayer portion. That's what happens when your PS3 yellow lights on you and your mom won't buy you a new one. Then you have to rely on friends. Sucks. Looking for a job though to get one before all the games this fall and still have a shit ton of games to play that have been out since late 2009.
I can't really decide on a top 3 at the moment, but some contenders would be: Portal 2, Deus Ex, Bastion, Dead Space 2, and Shadows of the Damned. Considering some of the stuff coming out the next few months a couple of those might easily get knocked out of contender status. I also enjoyed inFamous 2 and Dragon Age 2. I'm playing Space Marine, at the moment, and it's pretty good as well......I really suck at just picking a favorite and/or top 3.

I'd probably put LA Noire up if I played it. Also, I'm throwing Fallout: New Vegas in there since I've played a ton of it this year. Killzone 3 was pretty fun too.
Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, MW3, AC: Revelations and Halo: Anniversary Edition will be huge mentions, but I think Ace Combat: Assault Horizon and Saint's Row: The Third will utterly and completely dominate my favorites though. So, you know, strap it the fuck on!
Fuck, I'm going to go broke by the end of the year.
I literally haven't stopped playing Mortal Kombat consistently since its release. It's easily the best game I've played this year. 250+ hours and I'm still coming back for more.
Bastion, at this point, is probably my number two, though in my mind there's a significant drop-off between Mortal Kombat and everything else. The other games I've played this year have all had that "Flavor of the Week" quality about them. Nothing has really managed any sort of staying power apart from MK.
Deus Ex is getting a lot of love, and it's rightly deserved. It falls in at number three on my list, but I expect both it and Bastion to get knocked off before the end of the year, what with Skyrim, Gears, Battlefield, Nd Uncharted all waiting in the rafters.
Mortal Kombat has all but sealed its spot as my Game of the Year, though.
I haven't finished DE quite yet so it may bump Portal 2 down once it is complete. I plan on picking up The Witcher 2, Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted 3, AC:R, and Skyrim as well. I'm pretty sure Skyrim will end up being number 1 on my list when all is said and done.
