Are you a fan of hot cereals? (Question of the Day 11-5-10)

I'm eating some right now and it's awesome. Really makes you feel good too. :)

I eat oatmeal every morning. Tastes like crap.

If hot cereal is what I think it is... Does it mean that this can actually happen?!

Hell yeah. A nice big bowl of porridge (oatmeal) on a cold morning. Fill the bowl with as much fruit and nuts as you possibly can and chow the fuck down!

Love oatmeal.  Trader Joes sells a frozen puck of steel cut oatmeal that is very good and way less hassle than making steel cut the normal way.

Oatmeal rules.

This is the one and only way I will eat anything like that: 2 instant oatmeal packets, one strawberry, one cinnamon, with the water from the tap as hot as it will go, eaten right away so they don't get soggy.

Malt-O-Meal with butter, milk, and sugar = so good. I also make a mean oatmeal -  I add brown sugar to the boiling water before adding the oats to sweeten it up.

I don't like oatmeal as much. :/

I've never even heard of hot cereal. 

I'm glad to see that the hot cereal is winning in the poll. :)  
 
If you haven't ever seriously tried hot cereal I think all of you should go out and give it a shot. It's also very different than what you may  have been fed as a kid when you make it yourself. Because you can make it how you want. So the texture, thickness or thiness, ect. can all be determined by you. I generally like mine very thin with lots of sugar, but other times I feel like making it thick. It's a completely different experience. And as everyone else has said, you can add all kinds of stuff to it. Bananas in Malt-O-Meal or Cream of Wheat is freakin' DELICIOUS. And it's pretty much a proven fact that hot cereals are extremely good for you. 

Oh God, no.

I had no idea so many people hated hot cereals. My worldview is completely shattered.

Yup I love me some oatmeal with fruits in it. not the instant kind either, I boil milk and water with some nice old fashioned oatmeal.

I never thought of oatmeal as 'hot cereal' before, but it sure is delicious.

Cereal just mean its an edible grain, like wheat, oats, rice, corn, etc. The reason breakfast cereal is called 'cereal' in the first place is because it's made out of....cereal!  Look at your breakfast box...Frosted Flakes OF CORN. RICE Krispies. Sugar Smacks toasted RICE cereal.   Cereal is a type of grain, not something specifically meant for breakfast. "
