Are you afraid of spiders?

I am.

I just two brown recluses by my sofa and I wanna call in an air strike on my apartment..

Don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight.

Apparently, most spiders aren't even harmful to humans, but I'm scared of all spiders because they're gross. >.<

You sure they were brown recluses? I'd be getting an exterminator in that case. Recluse bites aren't fun.

I'm moving to a new apartment on June 1st, and it's owned by the same landlord I have now so I'm gonna see if I can move outta here early or something... or maybe my landlord will buy me hella cocaine so I don't have to sleep for the next six days.

Nope. I'm weary of them if they're big, obviously, but you just have to remember that most can't cause very much harm, and even if they could they usually just mind their own business. Slept very peacefully in a room with a redback spider right above my head once, like the superhuman I am.

Bigger ones can make me nervous if I see them in real life, they can look a little threatening , smaller ones don't bother me. Otherwise I think they're cool, loved playing Diablo 3, chucking urn upon urn full of the buggers, filling half the screen.

Nope. I might care more if I lived in a country where we had dangerous spiders, but here spiders are totally harmless. In fact, I quite like spiders. I never wash one down the drain if it's in my bathtub or anything like that. I always move it out of the bathtub.

Lmao. My water heater kept going out this month so it's in the process of being replaced and the dude that does work on stuff that breaks left all the panels off of the wall that water heater was behind and it's FULL of spiderwebs.. I imagine that is their homeland..

I have supplies on hand to make a molotov cocktail, but I don't think that would stay contained, and might blow up the water heater (?)..

Ah, that would explain it. From looking at pictures and videos Australia looks so beautiful, but I don't think I could ever visit because I would probably be terrified of dying to all the wildlife there..

Yep, I'm completely paralyzed for a few seconds when I see one. Luckily, in the Netherlands there aren't too many spiders that grow to a big size, and they're all perfectly harmless to humans. Only one species is known to deliver a painful bite, which is the Waterspin (diving bell spider), but - as the name implies - these are only to be found in wetlands.

Nope, while it's nice that they help keep the bug population down, it'd be nice if the spiders residing in the apartment helped pay some of the bills.

Am I afraid of spiders? No; I just can't fucking stand the things. If there is one in my room, outside my room, or anywhere near my room, I will not be capable of falling asleep until I know it is absolutely dead.

I used to own 2 pink toed Mexican jumping tarantulas. Their names were Ned and Ted.

They looked something like this.

They lived for about 2 years in the same cage. They are the only kind that can do that.

Living in the UK there aren't really any dangerous spiders so I personally have nothing against spiders. I would actually prefer to have a spider in my room than a fly buzzing about, bashing it's silly head into things. Those things are annoying!

I also tend to think spiders look cute with their shiny little eyes o_o

However when there are a lot of them in a bunch, like crawling around, then it's gross :S

Look, you'll be just fine, as long as you don't actively look to piss them off. Don't poke your hands down any holes, don't got trekking through the bush like an idiot, and just be sensible. The worst are honestly the mosquitoes, but they're a pain anywhere.

Also, if you're doing the good tourist-y thing, you'll be in places where you'll see the danger from a good 25 metres or so, or there just won't be a risk at all. Do come, we're pretty cool people.

Shit scared of spiders, I remember when I was 8 on holiday, I go the the toilet and there was 2 massive spiders as big as my hand in the toilet, I just lifted my pants back up and ran.

I'm fine with spiders. If they don't bug me, I don't bug them.

Yes. A couple of weeks ago there was this huge one on and unused chair in the corner of my bedroom. When I spotted it I turned into just a blithering idiot and was scurrying about trying to formulate a plan to kill it. Sucked it with the vacuum hose, but not before it almost made it to the floor register. I Didn't sleep well for a week afterwards. I decided to keep my room clean of crap in weird places so I can see em more easily, it's making me a cleaner person. Also I've gotten together a pair of thick spider smushing gloves, spider squishin shoes and a large magazine to smack them with if need be.

I don't enjoy them, they're creepy. The other day this fat little hairy spider tried to ambush me at my car, it was just hanging out on my door, lying in wait and it looked like one of the jumpy ones. My husband tried to knock it off the door but only managed to knock it into the open car window! He opened the door and claimed it was gone, but I was like nuh-uh and when I looked in, it was hanging out on the door frame smirking at me! So I slammed the door on it and the damn thing was still alive but decided to exit the car. Freakin' thing.

So yeah, not a fan of spiders.

Apparently this what the venom of that spider you mentioned can do to you...

Yes, but to a reasonable extent (ie not being petrified in fear when seeing one)

Edit: Ants are worse than spiders. I'd much rather have a spider crawling on me than an ant. Spiders are harmless, ants bite.

I am afraid of spiders because I don't want to be bitten and don't like the idea of it crawling on me, I just have a fear of most insects and arachnids and other arthropods. However, what I hate most of all is ant invasions into my home rendering me unable to leave any food item out of a sealed container and having to scrub my countertops of any particulate. At times like these if I see a spider in my house I will respectfully acknowledge it and will not disturb it, because I'm hopeful that it will destroy some of those annoying motherfuckers. Spiders don't eat my food.
