Being an only child does not make one selfish. I am also, and it seems like my gaming collection is about 3/4ths full with all the games I let people borrow, and my bookshelf is in similar shape. Also, a few years ago I went on a missionary trip to Peru (though i'm not particularly religious). That was a great experience.

Heh, I was being somewhat facetious. Actually, a lot of people who learn that I'm an only child while getting to know me seem surprised. I'm not saying yay me, because in other facets I'm a complete only child (hogging the spotlight, anyone?) but other times I can be quite self conscious of the way I'm perceived.

I'm always very consious of how I am percieved, but I don't think that sort of thing really makes one selfish or not. One can be self consious and entirely unselfish, or one could not care what people think and be very selfish. Oh, and I can't stand the perception of only children as selfish. It's ridiculous
No, not really. I usually care about other peoples well-being more than my own. People probably have a hard time believing that though. Just a few weeks ago I gave all the money I had saved up for PAX to someone who needed the money more.

It was actually about 4 or 5 weeks ago but now that I think about it I might have been SOL anyways. I hadn't ordered my pass yet, they might have been sold out already.
Letting someone use your pass for a day is nice too. I don't know if I'd be willing to give it up once I had it.

I know I already posted once in this thread, but I am the same way you are. I have but one friend now that I care about, and would die for. But my other 2 friends I don't give a shit about.
When it comes to people wanting to borrow my stuff, then I get a little selfish because I don't want them to touch. : - P I might not ever see it again!
Let's do a breakdown of the dictionary terms for Selfish:
1. "devoted to or caring only for oneself" - No, I do care about others. 2. "concerned primarily with one's own interests" - Yes, I care more about what I want than what you want.
At times I'm seflish, and at other times I'm completely neglectful of myself and put everyone else's needs before my own. Most of the time it's the latter, though.
