Bands you like despite of not liking the genre

Are there any bands you like despite of not usually being a huge fan of that type of music?
 
Now I'm not a big fan of rap. I don't like rap basically. But I really like Gorillaz. Now I know that not all their songs have rapping in them, but those that have it I actually really like. I think their songs are pretty deep, and they have really catchy choruses. They're one of my favorite bands.

Iron Maiden and Metallica, not a big fan off Heavy Metal but they do have a couple off great songs I can't get enough off.

Well I guess you could call them alternative. Yea I know Damon Albarn is kinda the guy behind the band. I did a freakin' 15 page essay on the band xD "

I absolutely love Weezer, but I hate other... Things.... Like Weezer. Do they even fall into a genre? I suppose they would be mostly alt. rock and indie... But anyways, They're exactly the kind of music I would hate, but they're just so dang catchy.

haha i did question myself once before, "why do i love only the one rapper who is white?" , and the conclusion was that its a coincidence.. i like his style, the rest of the rappers are annoying bagheads and they can suck my [insert something here]. maybe (probably) the fact that he's white gave his rap a different style, one that i and many others enjoy "

I like Supertramp but I hate all those other same-styled 70's and 80's bands.

N.W.A. got me into rap even though for a while I only liked in the rap genre.

I dig the Beatles despite not really liking most contemporary "pop" artists.
 
Can't really say I hate any one genre though, if I like a song, I'll listen to that song; no matter the genre. 
 
I don't listen to rap, often, but how can you not love this?
 
 

Daft Punk are awesome, but in general I dislike dance or electronic music,

I like RUN DMC, Whodini, Eminem, and think that 50 Cent is awesome in an ironic kind of way, but I don't really like any other rappers.

agree with Gorillaz.  I also like Gnarls Barkley.  But I don't really like rap music or hip hop whatever genre you would put these 2 groups in.

Lady GaGa, Kesha and a couple of Britney Spears songs considering I know what I'm listening to is complete utter garbage. So catchy though, especially that goddamn Kesha song "tick tok" also shes pretty good looking also. Horrible song though yet catchy.

Well I didn't like Rap and Grime yet I listened to Dizzee Rascal and now I'm hooked.

I'm not a huge fan of metal and borderline metal/hard rock, but I like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Guns-n-Roses, Def Leppard, and Van Halen (Diamond Dave & Sammy eras).  99% of the rest of the field, I can do without.

I used to dislike rap but Del tha Funkee Homosapien (aka Deltron), El Producto (aka El-P), and Aesop Rock (no aka) really turned me around. Def Jux records is a breath of fresh air.

Johnny Cash but I HATE most country music that comes out now. I've started listening to Daft Punk now but I don't see myself getting into the house/dance genre any further than that.

 It seems really weird to like classical music, but if you just like bounce around Related Videos on Youtube one day, some o that shit rocks.
and I don't like musicals, but Fame gets a pass. Aw who am I kidding I love musicals. Moulin Rouge also gets a pass.

R-Kelly, I got mad respect for a guy who pisses on an underage girl during sex and gets away with it.  Good role model for my children.

I LOVE me some Devildriver despite not being a fan of screamy vocals.

I despise rap, but I really enjoy Eminem.

Despised Icon. Deathcore was something interesting until everyone from the scene melodic metalcore bandwagon defected.
