In just over a half an hour, Microsoft will taking to the stage in LA to announce something big. Some are predicting an E reader running windows 8 (sounds unlikely to me), others are saying XBox music will be delved into further, and the rest are predicting an XBox branded tablet made by Nokia. Thing is, Microsoft some how got their secrecy down this time, so no one really knows what will happen. Check out the live blog when the event finally revs up. Until then, what do you predict? A tablet, better bing maps, new Windows phone device, XBox music news, smartglass info ect? Maybe even an .... XBox 720? Who knows.

And here is the announcement for everybody who missed it..

I kinda doubt it'll be something with the Xbox name, because if it was, wouldn't they have announced it at E3? If it's a tablet (and I think we're all in agreement it will be) it'll be Smartglass compatible, but I really doubt it'll have the Xbox name.

@MooseyMcMan: Yeah I kind of agree, but after the re branding of Zune to Xbox music, who knows? But you're right, it's too soon after E3 for anything Xbox related.

It'd be pretty hysterical if it was a new console announcement. Let Nintendo and Sony breathe easy for not having to compete in the console arms race for another year, and then bam.

I can dream, at least.

Obligatory Xbox720 announcement post.

In all seriousness I'd wager it being some form of tablet orientated product to coincide with the ridiculous amount of Smartglass coverage brought up during Microsoft's E3 conference. They were pretty focused on the whole "Smartglass can make your tablet, smartphone and TV all so much better using the power of Xbox and intelligence of Kinect etc" during E3.

windows 8 phones.

Oh man, that would be so awesome, this thing is extremely under wraps, and there has been some leaks of the Kinect 2. I seriously doubt that will happen, but it would be fantastic if they just went up there and did it.

That's a shame...no Reebok or Assics? Microsoft really dropped the ball on this one.

I'd be happy if they announced 12 more ways I can watch ESPN on all of their devices. I mean, that's what gamers want right? More Nike and ESPN.

@Hamz: A high quality tablet to compete with iPad is pretty much certain to me, but I would hope they talk about their approach with the future of media with them so we can get some knowledge nuggets about the nextbox ( I had to).

Yeah and none of those things apply for outside NA. It's like NA = the world for Micro$oft. It's a good thing I pirate Microsoft software.

Brute Force 2!

It's the only announcement MS can make that deserves it's own big spectacle.

Hope it's a good one.

Every industry "insider" is leaning towards a tablet or Windows Phone announcement or a combination of both. Maybe they'll talk about all of their partners for Smartglass.

I still don't have a tablet and don't like iOS so these look really nice to me.

I'll either get one of these or that lenovo yoga.

Kickstand is nice too.

Edit: That cover with a keyboard is actually pretty damn cool.

#42 Posted by iAmJohn (6135 posts) -
