Do exams ruin your gaming?
Theres loads of exam threads, but a quests gotta happen someway! i reckon this has enough discursive value! I have my exams coming up in the next 2 weeks and as a result I'm awesome at contract law, and crap at call of duty. This is not ideal, at giantbomb we are all aware that video game skillz are far more important that academic ones. Im going to have my summer forgetting my revision and getting better at games. Who else is in this situation?
" I feel its the other way around. Gaming ruins my exams. "Was going into this topic thinking the same thing
Gaming I feel is bit give and take, I usually play them after exams or the night before to relieve some exam stress.
But too much gaming during exam week will screw you up. Lucky for me no exams till June
Exams made me stop playing warhawk for a week or 2 and in that time the clan that we spent 6 months building self destructed. As a result I didn't play it again for 5 months. I'd still rather play games with those guys than any of my current clanmates.
" @skywing said:I just finished my Mech Eng exams last week." I feel its the other way around. Gaming ruins my exams. "This. I have 3rd year Mech Eng exams coming up. They start just after RDR comes out. I know I should wait a couple of weeks till after my exams to start playing...but I won't. "
Funny, I was just trying to decide what to do because no games are holding my interest and then I came across this thread.
I've been working pretty much all day every day for the last 2 weeks and now I get bored of playing any games after about 10 minutes. Sure, I can tell you how the cosmic inflation model solves the horizon and flatness problems and explains the origin of structure in the universe, but what use is that if I can't shoot stuff up in borderlands and grin like a half-wit?
A weird thing has happened. Due to exams I haven't played games for over a month, and now I no longer feel the need to. Have I... gone off gaming?
Eh, kinda, but I can deal with it. E3 is when school gets in the way for me, and is a week where I'm more likely to start slacking off in class.
" No more exams. But when I did write them, there was no gaming. It was constantly studying. Engineering Sucks. "Business major FTW.
I hate profs that give exams. I love the ones that just assign a final project. You'd think the way they preach team work in college that they would abolish exams. Or at least for business majors. My marketing prof must have said team work is important like 59 times this semester.
I agree exams get it the way of gaming. I have a college algebra monday (which is stupid, should have been friday). That could be precious gaming time, for a exam I'll just ace anyways.
