Do you think the illuminati exist?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
They're everywhere man, in our food, watching us watch the TV, listening to our phone calls, creating global warming, killing pandas.
Just kidding, I'm skeptical, I can't choose yes or no cause I don't have enough info. I know that some day all the world powers will unite into one, spore was right.
If you have spent any time in Government/Politics like I have you will laugh and laugh at the idea of conspiracies and secret groups. The idea that our government could pull off a major conspiracy that actually works is just hilarious. The inner working of the federal/local government is so ineffective that I am amazed that anything gets done at all. All the work is done by lower level employees that are paid poorly and treated even worse. Having them keep a major secret about aliens or JFK would be a fool's errand.

that's just the tip of the iceberg man, they act stupid so you don't suspect them, it's all a conspiracy!

You have no idea...It's less West Wing, more Parks and Rec.
Aren't conspiracy theories just the desire to make sense out of an inherently chaotic and stumbling system? Or when they're not that, simply attempts to undermine the government's power/authority?
After reading the book series by Robert Shea & Robert Anton Wilson as well as playing enough of the card game when it was out. Even if it doesn't exist as people think it does, they did a good job at making people believe it does exist in some other way.
Even if they did exist, and I don't think they do, a world government isn't happening anytime soon. Look at the situation of the middle east. A lot of those guys don't have any interest in being under western dominion or even influence of any kind. The Eurozone is far from uniting into a single government too, and that was previously the most likely candidate for change along those lines that I could see.
So let me get this straight and correct me if I'm wrong. The illuminati is a organization created by a politician. Who wanted to have 1 government and to have control over people. But in order to do that they needed to cut down the world's population. Supposedly the violence in the media and alot of disasters events was caused by the illuminati. In order to cut down the world's population.
Me and a classmate was talking about this at school. He believes that a new world order will come, and that chips are going to be implanted in us so the government can watch are every move. He also thinks that the group anonymous are people that's against the illuminati. As for me I heard and seen some stuff that made me think the illuminati exist, and I do have a feeling that a new world order will come soon.

OH GOD. Maybe he implanted a brain control chip in falserelic's head! MAYBE HE'LL DO IT TO ALL OF US.
You mean "Illuminati" in some "secret government that secretly controls all secrets" sense? Yeah, that is nonsense.
Which is exactly what THEY want you to think! You are all sheep!
But in all seriousness: Nope
Everyone has a right to there opinion on what they think about the illuminati. The comment I made earlier was what I've been hearing from people. I thought it was abunch of bullshit too. But then I've been seeing alot of weird things that has illuminati involved. But anywhoo everyone can feel free to share there thoughts, and like always I won't judge.
@runnah555 Agreed, the idea of all these hypocrites in government getting together and plotting is really funny. They can't even agree on their own positions and beliefs, how the fuck could they ever organize a cult or whatever.
@falserelic: People always start to see things that they think align with a conspiracy if they look hard enough, like that number 23 shit, or 2012. It's coincidence.
Well here some vids about the illuminati. People are really going at each other about the illuminati on youtube. It makes you wonder what to believe or not to believe.
Illuminati is everywhere, if the random scribble I saw on a bench in high school is to be believed.
And I see no reason why it shouldn't. I mean, come on, it was clearly written by someone who saw through their clever disguise and written there to enlighten her peers.
Also, I don't see anyone writing Illuminati doesn't exist anywhere, do YOU? So yeah, it's pretty obvious they exist.
I find it hilarious when people talk about the Illuminati as a satanic cult though. It's like, you have google, how hard is it to educate yourself about who Anton LaVey or Alister Crowly was or what satanism actually stands for? Sheep will be sheepin'.
ok let me clear things out for you free of charg. Two terms illumianti and new world order
1. the idea of a secret order of ppl that rule the world and control everything the way people think is insane. However it is true that there are people that ' control ' the politics and you have no say about it. Its not the people you elect. Its not a cult either. Its the people that have control of the means of production , all the important land , the media etc. Its not a conspiracy because everything is legal and its not 'people from the shadows '. The idea for the crazy world leader cult is based on the inability of the masses to understand how the world works ( capitalism ) while also being aware that they have no control over it , republican / democrat dichotomy being meaningless etc.
2. the term new world order exists for some time and originally it was not based on conspiracy shit at all. It actually meant the time period ( now ) post the collapse of the USSR. In the new world order there is no socialist block so imperialism becomes more aggressive and capitalism more absolute. So this term started out as a normal thing. Again ppl with no understanding of the position the US is in post USSR collapse understood the new world order as -again- people in a cult who control the world.
Now the thing with people noticing symbols @dennisthemennis explained it well enough
Both terms are based on reality. It is true that the minority control the wealth and everything asociated with it. However because people are unable to understand how and why they control it they have to go back to the year old history of witches that secretly control everything because the king is appointed by god so he cant be wrong.
I believe in the Illuminati. They are all reptilians & the British Queen is in charge of the reptilians who are in charge of us.
OK, I'm being silly. Never really been one for mental conspiracy theories, mainly because they tend to be a distraction from actual problems, like how the world is basically a plutocracy
I'm sure there are groups that think of themselves as the Illuminati, but my experience shows that while there are very powerful government and corporate groups in this world, no one controls everything or even half of everything. I don't think there is a huge group that runs everything in the world - although I know there are groups that try to run everything in the world.
The modern day Illuminati are inventions by paranoiacs. They don't exist. Conspiracy theorists twist every single news article, news fact, report or suspicion into some sort of grand plan by some sort of hidden group. First they said that the crop spraying was to "lower" the population. Well, it continues to grow. Now they say that it's to increase the population - you see how they'll twist any fact to fit in with their preconceived notion of the Illuminati's existence?
Conspiracy theorists twist facts to fit their theories, instead of twisting theories to fit facts. Once they believe that the Illuminati exist, nothing will convince them that they don't. Any evidence against their beliefs is incorporated as "part of the conspiracy". "Oh ho!" they say, "that's just what THEY want you to think!". It's like with young earth creationists - anytime you show them any evidence of evolution they simply reply "The Devil put that there to fool you". You can't convince people who have made up their minds regardless of evidence. Conspiracy theorists WANT there to be a conspiracy. They'd actually be sad if there was no illuminati, because it would remove an aspect of mystery and intrigue in their lives. They get a special thrill out of believing that they know the "true workings of this world" - their belief in conspiracy gives them a sense of power, a sense of "looking through the looking glass", a sense of intelligence that separates them from the rest of "us sheeple". They cling to conspiracies because it makes them feel special. It's egotistical.
Of course, no doubt, they'll say I'm a paid member of the illuminati, that I'm a stooge, that any evidence against their theories has been "planted" by nefarious forces. Don't bother debating a conspiracy theorist - there's no point. They want to believe, so they will go on believing. They are the exact opposite of scientists.
Youtube is the only place that the Illuminati exists.
Let me tell you something, there doesn't need to be an organization that limits human populations because in the near future it'll happen all by itself. We have more immediate problems right now that endangers billions of lives such as: Shortages of fresh drinking water, no sanitation, lack of water management, lack of food/medicine, overpopulation, anti-biotic resistance, overfishing, biological diversity loss, global warming... and the list continues.
The only thing that can solve these problems is a unified world government. For example, we wouldn't have problems with water management because current geopolitical borders don't take watersheds (natural borders that control where water flows) into account. Countries and cities currently have to battle these problems and it causes a lot of tension. Water management in Mexico City is a huge problem. Some parts of the city have fallen into the ground by about 2-3 meters. The poor literally have to pay more for water than the rich. If these borders were non existant, there could be one government that guides the passage of these waters more effectively.
I don't understand why people are so afraid of their governments. I see so many benefits that can come out of a unified government. Less wars, centralized problem solving, huge worldwide budgets and cooperation on exciting science and space development, united democracy. Given a good constitution and a foundation of personal rights, the government is always run by and scared of its own people. But sadly this government will never be formed, not in my lifetime atleast.
Was "falserelic" really HitmanAgent47 all along, or just starting to sound like him? Only the Illuminati know.
What just happened with Green Day suggests an Illuminati-like organization exists. Billy Joe Armstrong rightfully bitches out Clear Channel for cutting their set short after Usher hogged the clock. The next day all media outlets are labeling it a "freak out" and BJA is checking into rehab? Follow the money!
Illuminati or not, government or not, I do believe that the music we listen to by the musicians we imitate and the movies we watch acted by the movie stars we quote, as well as the newspapers we read/news channels we watch (and most of us immediately believe), are all to a certain degree controlled by people who want us to think and behave in a certain way.
The reason I think so is two things:
1. People's false hatred/false love for certain things, or simply the variety of cases where people have the wrong idea or impression of something. It is not natural, it is certainly manipulated. I mean, just for one example, the fact that the most noble wise and peaceful Arab man who ever lived (Muhammad) is considered a devil worshipping child molester by many people in the western world today, is no coincidence or misunderstanding. Just as Arabs/Muslims are considered the world's public enemy number 1... It clearly is in someone's interests for this rather peaceful and loving religion to be hated and antagonized.
I mean, the world has always needed an antagonist, so much that it clearly is somebody's doing. It was the Communists before Arabs, the Vietnamese before that, the Nazis before that, and so on. Some of them are good some are evil, but someone was always there to pick the next antagonist for the world to hate.
2. Celebrities. I used to make fun of those who said JayZ and Lady Gaga were Illuminati, but regardless of WHAT they are, there clearly is something fishy going on with all the top selling flashy musicians who make shallow music and become the leaders of the hearts of millions around the world.
I'm not a rap expert, I've only been a fan a few months, but even I noticed on my own that Tupac who had a heart and didn't wanna conform to how hot celebrities behave and what they say, got killed, whereas the no-talent, leeching stan called Sean Carter became a worldwide bomb overnight when the soul of his voice disappeared and he began rapping about the usual shit, focusing on "ill beats."
DMX wanted out of the "fake game" and to tell the truth, his image was destroyed. Michael Jackson got fed up and tried to warn people, he died. It's pretty fucking clear to be honest.
I'm not a big fan of conspiracy theories, but it is simply naive to not notice that somebody on this planet is manipulating how we think as groups/societies, deciding what we love and hate, setting trends for us and killing/destroying those who try to break out of the norm and tell the truth.
I don't believe in an illuminati that rules the world but more of corporations that try to protect their interests through manipulation of the government. This gets passed and this doesn't because of the oil industry, fast food, pharmaceuticals, etc. "Hey this makes no sense for our population but it'll make us a lot of money so SURE!"
But yeah a single secret society that controls everything? Nah.
I believe that there MAY BE (but probably isn't) a group of wealthy individuals who try and control who becomes president. The fact that it always comes down to the same two candidates who have the inverted and paralleled views. The only difference between candidates is the color of their political party. If you look far enough back, they usually run in the same wealthy group or have gone to the same schools. Wasn't it reported that both Clinton AND the Bush's were apart of the Skull and Bones? It would be easier than you'd think to ease one candidate up the ladder for each political party like Romney and Obama. Then you make sure candidates that aren't a part of the system like Herman Cain and Ron Paul don't make it by any means. Everyone I knew was actually going to vote for Herman Cain because he seemed to at least stir some shit up, then the skeletons in his closet start coming out and he quickly drops out and now they're stuck with dumb and dumber. My sister says she's going to vote Ron Paul, but we all know that'll go nowhere.
Alright I'm a little bored, but I do believe in the possibility of a group pulling strings the best they can to control outcomes. It can happen on a small scale and I believe it can happen on a larger scale just as easy. Just look up mob mentalities and hive minds. If you can get a mob to think in unison, it'd be like controlling only one person.

Reading that reminded me of this DMX vid. Where he talks about corruption in the industry.
