So what is your favorite beer of choice? I personally like Strongbow, its an English dry cider that tastes pretty close to apple cider. But it ain't no Smirnoff or fucking Mikes drink.
Favorite Beer?
I was this {} close to getting a six of that tonite because I hadn't tried it before, but went with good old Woodchuck 802. Now before i get blasted for being a cider-loving fruit, I was making pork and wanted something apple-ish to compliment it.
When I drink real beer, I go for something like this, Troegs Rugged Trail Nut Brown Ale.
It's made 10 minutes from my house, and is one of my favorite nut brown ales.
I was never a huge beer drinker (I preferred hard liquor.) When I did drink it, it was usually in clubs. I used to usually order a Löwenbräu.
" I was never a huge beer drinker (I preferred hard liquor.) When I did drink it, it was usually in clubs. I used to usually order a Löwenbräu. "I am also a preferred hard liquor guy, but like once in a blue moon I would actually like a beer.
" Erm... Cider isn't beer. Anyways, I like any nice hoppy real ale. Like Greeneking IPA, but I like to try a load of different beers. I don't like to stick to one. "shush, don't ruin my fun >_>
I keep all of my bottlecaps.
I'm a big fan of hard cider (Magners is my personal favorite, but I can't get that here in the US), but I've been drinking more wine lately than anything else. I'll try anything once, though.
(ETA: I guess I should clarify, I don't have a favorite beer. Just a bunch of bottlecaps to remind me of what I've already tried.)
Strongbow in bottles is just wrong and Magners aint a strong cider. When i'm out, I usualy just go Stella or Kronenbourg. At home I mainly drink Holsten Pils.
As for me I have a selection of beer I keep coming back to:
Guinness
Tyskie
Cobra
but the ones I REALLY get excited at the prospect of is
Asahi
and Hoegaarden
" Coors Light. Somebody here had to represent. Too many people and their fancy-schmancy foreign beers. Bah! I've got blue mountains on my bottles! "And water IN the bottles.
Also, is it bad that I'm ready for summer to end so i can get some good winter Lager again?
Also, Mad Elf.
I would choose Guinness BL as it, and Guinness Stout are the only things I drink that ain't at least 20%, .
Bottled lagers
Bottled beers
Yum... "
Also, @ the OP. Thread is about your favourite beers, and you intermediately post a cider? Although I would be loathe to even call bow a cider. Vile, vile stuff.
Not really big on the taste of beer. However a ice cold Molson Canadian is pretty awesome. Coors light not bad either.
Hey duders in the Gulf Area, look out for Abita Beer's new SOS Pilsner. It is a charity beer (which is an awesome concept) whose proceed will go to a fund to help clean up the Gulf.
Abita it a pretty damn good brewery from Luisiana, known for Purple haze and Turbo Dog. I think this is in pretty limit distrobution so far, but I for one am gonna try and track some down"Working with the Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board (LSPMB), Abita Beer announced that it has established ‘SOS – A Charitable Fund’ that will assist with the rescue and restoration of the environment, industry and individuals fighting to survive this disastrous oil spill. The fund has pledged that 100% of all money raised will go to charity. In addition, the Louisiana Seafood Marketing Board will play an important role in advising where the money can do the most good. An advisory committee is being established as the donation process and grant procedures are finalized. The centerpiece of the fundraising effort is a new charitable beer created by Abita. The brew, called SOS – A Charitable Pilsner, will generate 75¢ for every bottle sold. This Abita Beer is a message in a bottle...a distress signal for the troubled waters of our Gulf Coast. For every bottle sold Abita will donate 75¢ to the rescue and restoration of the environment, industry and individuals fighting to survive this disastrous oil spill. This unfiltered Weizen Pils is made with Pilsner and Wheat malts. It is hopped and dry hopped with Sterling and German Perle hops. It has a brilliant gold color, a sweet malt flavor, and a pleasant bitterness and aroma. In addition, related retail merchandise (hat, tee shirt, lapel pin, decal and car magnet) will be sold and 100% of the net proceeds will also go to the SOS Fund."
