The Star Wars: Republic Commando series is very awesome. So are the Malazan Empire books. And Sherlock Holmes. And anything written by H.P. Lovecraft in the Cthulhu Mythos.

Golden Compass, I Am Legend, Gates Of Fire

Ender's Game, The Stand, The Shining, The Zombie Survival Guide, and the Harry Potter books.

The Prince of Nothing, 1984, The Stand, Lord of the Rings.

More recently the Sigma files by James Rollins and Oregon Files by Clive Cussier have got my attention.

Piers Anthony - Incarnations of Immortality (the whole series)

Lois McMaster Bujold - Miles Vorkosigan Saga (the first couple of books, when he was young and the Preludes)

oh well .. i just noticed that there are simply too many books i consider favorites... but with the ones above, i'd be bold enough to say that these are excellent reads if you are into SciFi and/or Fantasy

I almost never read, but my favorites are the "Tales of the Otori"-books.

I real enjoyed the Song of Fire and Ice sage by George R.R. Martin. Its still plugging along.... arrggh. I hate waiting years for the next book, then having to go back and reread the other ones to catch back up.

My favorite book of all time is Memoirs of a Geisha.  It is so captivating to see into what that kind of life was like.

I really liked the Kite Runner
and Harry Potter was good too

The only books I have really been able to read without falling asleep are the Harry Potter Series and the Halo series. I am yet to read the prologue to Mass Effect.

I really like book made by Bukowski. Hes such a great wood poet.

In terms of full length novels I'd have to say Nobody True by James Herbert. Its about a guy who is brutally murdered while he is floating out of his body, and he must save his wife and child without the ability to interact with the living world. Its a really moving novel.

My favorite book is The Catcher in the Rye. A lot of serial killers like this book too...
