Hey dudes at Giantbomb, just wanted to introduce to you guys the movie Gamer! http://gamerthemovie.com/ Caught the trailer on x box live and you guys should do the same! Looks like another attempt by Hollywood to make a video game based movie though this game isn't based on any video game just mmos....

Looks alot like Death Race or the Condemned with its putting prison inmates in brutal future sports, which might be the right kind of dumb. This leads me to believe that soon we will get a Gears of War movie but it will be only about Trash Ball!

I think I saw this story on an episode of the X-Files, SeaQuest and few other scifi shows. The Running Man meets the Sims...how special.

SEE Exactly what I was thinking. Crank was kinda dumb but a enjoyable dumb so this movie will be dumb but a "fun" dumb!

Theatrical release or straight to DVD? This will be the deciding factor. If it goes straight to DVD it means it isn't bad like Crank is bad (because Crank is so bad it's great) but that it's bad like The Phantom Menace was bad.

In turn...it's a formula for FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!!

So do you think the studio made Gerard Butler choose between this or "P.S. I Love You, Too"? If I were him, I'd go with the action movie, too.

I'm sort of scared of this movie. It has Michael C. Hall (Dexter), and Ludacris opposite King Leonidis in a "Running Man meets WoW" plot. This could, quite possibly, be one of the worst movies ever.

@jakob187: If it takes itself super serious then I'll hate it. The thing I like about over the top movies like Shoot 'Em Up, Crank they didn't take themselves serious. There was some good humor and they often made fun of the situations.

Why? Gerard Butler is a great action man, Michael C. Hall is good as a slimeball, The Running Man was great so an updated version could be equally as good and since when does a plot need to be convoluted before it gets good?
