Where's the multiple times a day option?
How often do you drink pop/soda?
@OtakuGamer: How can you do that? That's terrible! Don't you trigger some sort of automated vomiting reflex by ingesting that much trash into your body?
Rarely. I drank soda daily all through high school and then my first year of college when I was on a meal plan and it was just there for the taking. Now I probably drink a soda once every 4-6 weeks or so. I mostly drink water with meals unless I'm having wine or beer.
Part of what did it for me was the lack of access. Not having it in the fridge like when I lived at home or flowing freely in the dining hall helped cut me off. I didn't have a lot of money in college so I stopped buying it regularly. I had friends who'd buy a 20oz coke pretty much every day and also complained about not having money. At $1.20 each that adds up. That was beer money for weekends. That's Deus Ex's sale price last week at Amazon. I chose how I preferred to spend my money and it stuck after that.
Now it's a treat, like going out for ice cream, which is probably how it should be treated considering that it's bad for you with no real nutritional benefit. It's no longer about being able to afford it, it's just a change that I made. My parents visited 3 months ago and bought a 6-pack of Coke. They drank two and there are still three in the fridge after all that time.
Daily, Diet Coke is my drug of choice, I love the tingling sensation as the aspartame mutates my genetic code. I find actual Coke to be too sweet for me.

Better living through chemistry, duder.
i either drink none, or anywhere from 300-600-1000 ml a day. depends on the day. im not addicted, but curbing coca cola drinkage isnt exactly as easy as it sounds. i can admit im definitely addicted to cola soda pop. still i have 5 pounds of fat on my stomach and i work hard labour, so it will all be gone in a week anyway. if your more then 50 pounds overweight, not drinking soda can make you lose about 20 to 30 pounds in less then 3 months
My uncle did that, right up until his kidney stones. After that he cut back to a serving or two a day. He eats really poorly and prefers to manage his diabetes with medication even though his doctor tells him that could just eat like a normal healthy human instead. He's that kind of guy.I drink like 2 liters of coke a day :D
I drink pop to often for my own good... about twice a day I have a can and I never used to drink pop growing up unless I went out to eat. When I did start drinking pop often I eventually stopped drinking it for 8 months before and I was totally cool with it. Then a friend of mine would always offer me pop and one day I took it and never looked back... until now! This thread has given me the power to cut back again by making me realize how much I drink. Gonna replace pop with water real soon. Go back to the good ol' days of tea and water.
@SuperWristBands: That is pretty much exactly what happened with me, except for the "friend" part. I started to drink soda somewhat regularly once I was old enough to not rely on whatever my mother would buy. Then I made a concerted effort to stop -- started drinking primarily water and milk, and had some flavored sports water (Propel) when I wanted something fruity and sweet (it also gave me some vitamins I was lacking). Then I started working overnight at Walmart stocking shelves, and I started drinking soda and energy drinks again to get me through the night, and now I'm on two or three cans a day, like it's some kind of addiction. I reeeally should stop, but it's gonna be hard when the people I live with are always buying it, and it's cheaper than the Propel that would be my alternative.
Funny that this thread has come up now, as I just had my first soda in about 4 years. Won't be having another one though; I'm feeling super-sick right now.
I used to drink it multiple times a day, but cut it from my diet since it began to hurt my stomach and give me some digestive problems. I would primarily drink orange Sunkist. Now I usually drink one 18 oz. bottle of Pepsi a week when I'm working on my college's newspaper. I've lost 50 pounds since I cut soda out of my daily diet a little over a year ago and have kept it off.

I do not understand how people can drink soda everyday and not get fat.
I don't drink the stuff any more.
That would be me. I used to drink 5-6 cans of soda every day (Mello Yello) for years and still had trouble keeping weight on. I've stopped drinking so much soda but now I'm a Kool-Aid addict. That shit is goooooood.
Water is just so...meh.
I'm losing weight and started looking at food labels. A can of coke is 240 calories...about equal to a serving of fish. Plus its all sugar.
But is sure tastes good. I give myself on soda a week.
I don't drink soda for I'm afraid what it can do to my health I was told by my friend that drinking too much soda can lead to heart problem and Diabetes.Instead drinking soda I prefer to drink water and other healthy fluids .
Never, I stopped drinking fizzy stuff about 6 years or so ago, now whenever I have had a taste/sip I can't stand the stuff. Burns my mouth.
June 23rd this year, I had been ten years without soda/pop/wallet&tooth&inside-ruining liquids. Highly recommended.
My method of quitting was simple, taking breaks of days from it, to weeks before trying a little bottle, to eventually going an entire month without it, and that's how it eventually came to taste like syrupy crap. I would not have been in such good shape I am today despite everything, if I had not quit soda back then. Neither would my teeth have been this good and healthy, along with my breath. Not to mention my budget, it added up to a lot.
The next step remains making chocolate a Saturday only kind of intake. Shit's hard.
I drink pop from time to time. I usually drink water, gatorade, low calorie drinks, coffee, or if I really want to get ripped out of my fucking mind. I'll drink some of that HYPHY MUD!
Its nasty as shit, but it gives a good boost of energy. Maybe to good because last time I drank this I couldn't sleep.
