As an American, I see americans based on their orgins. The majority of Americans from my eye can meet one these categories.
1) A person who came from a family of peasants
2) A Person who came from a family of slaves
3) A person who came from a family of heretics.
A strange origin indeed.
How would you describe Americans?

I'd describe an entire nation of millions and millions of people, made up of different races, religions and creeds as fat.
A LOT, but not all and yeah I agree it's most likely due to shitty education." I find that a lot of Americans are ignorant towards everything outside of America. Which probably isn't their fault. It's more the school systems fault. "
I do find a good number to be super arrogant too, as if no other country can compete with them on anything.
" I find that a lot of Americans are ignorant towards everything outside of America. Which probably isn't their fault. It's more the school systems fault. "There are things . . . outside of America? :O

They don't have Melissa Theuriau.
Dumbed down, ranks low on the education system, illuminati controlled sheeps, brainwashed by the propaganda of the news, believes the play we call government and elections exist, overweight, unable to think for themselves, manufactured belif system, godless, hypontised and brainwashed by t.v shows and celebrity gossip, easily distracted, believes in ufos, 2012 disaster, intellegent life on other planets, over populated, incompetent compared to the power elite, overly focused on one thing, ignores the bigger picture, self rightous, immoral, incompetent.
I say this with all due respect.
" A country of immigrants, who hate new immigrants, forgetting that they are all actually immigrants. "Natives weren't immigrants. And the people who came in on Ellis Island aren't the people living in border states with mexico. But don't let a complex reality get in the way of swell alliteration.
Well I get the ignorant vibe every now and then like how that one thread was all about bashing Canada and calling us "under developed".
But with that said, American's are just like any other people, some are generous and polite while some give us the image of the stereotypical over weight ignorant American.
" They don't have Melissa Theuriau. "I would pay attention to the news more if she was the one reporting it here.
" @ryanwho: Because the majority of Americans today are native Americans? Was that your point? "Well you said everyone in America was an immigrant. You didn't say most. You didn't leave any wiggle room. And when you're going to patronize hundreds of millions of people, you should be careful with your wording.
" I find being an American is frustrating because no matter how hard I try to educate myself I will inevitably get generalized as being ignorant and fat. So I guess I shouldn't even bother trying? "Thank you for articulating my thoughts regarding the subject into words, you creepy internet psychic.

in order to do this i have to generalise to the extreme, but i would say they are very confidant of their own abilities, so much so that they have a superiority complex over other nations and even over their own government. They are 100% certain that their own beliefs (whatever they may be) are the right ones and everyone else must be wrong. I also have to say that from what i have seen they are rather optimistic, they will always assume that they will prevail in any situation, even if they don't understand the situation fully. Like i said, this is not all Americans, not even close. When you have that many people coming from that many different nationalities, religions etc, you cannot say one thing is true for all of them.
