I like the 100% effective...on mice. Thoughts? Full story hereScientists say they've finally created the "male pill"—and it sounds pretty easy to swallow. Developed by researchers in Israel, the oral pill works by removing a crucial protein in sperm, effectively deactivating it before it reaches the womb. It's proven to be 100% effective—at least on mice. And that's not the only impressive upside. The pill only has to be taken once every three months, and reportedly has no impact on male sex drive or other side effects. Human trials begin next year; the pill could be available in three years.
Male birth control?
Side effects may include: Stroke, Liver Failure, Erectile Dysfunction, Nausea, Heart Failure, and Instant Zombification
Hmm, interesting. But the lack of knowledge of possible long-term side-effects is concerning, to say the least.

Man, maybe I should post while being sleep deprived more often. ^_^ "" Sounds like an Impotency pill. No thanks. "This comment has a lot of common sense riding behind it. "
Anyhow, whenever we chance a fundamental part of our body's chemical makeup, our body does adapt. I'd be really worried that even if they don't see any impact in mice in the short term, there would be a long term impact in not having sperm produce that all-important protein. Impotency pill sounds like an accurate description - I'll have that name at the back of my mind at least until this product has been out on the market for 20 or so years.
so i did a little research...and there is this radical new thing all the kids are talking about...i believe its a condom, but i'd have to double check the spelling

While this just like the female pill counterpart is only effective for preventing pregnancy and not STDs it can still be preferable when one knows their partner is STD free.
" @CitizenKane said:It was just a joke." There is already male birth control. It's called pullin' it out. "You do know that that is one of the most unreliable contraceptive measures, right? "
I always double bag it.

This pill sounds like a good idea but without knowing the possible side effects on humans its going to be a long time before it even has a chance of being released. I'd hate to be one of the human test subjects anyway ^^

i believe it employs some sort of "force field" based technology, but i certainly wouldn't rule out witchcraft!
ps. sorry about the inbox message, thought it might reply right to the forum but MAN was i WRONG!!
This thread is hilarious t me.
Hehehe, I think my maturity is showing by hard I'm laughing by looking at these responses...
I was talking about birth control with a friend of mine, the other night, actually. She was talking about how much she hates having her period, but doesn't want to risk infertility by using the different medications currently on the market. That's why I try to stay away from most meds, in general.
Like when I was a teen, they wanted to put me on Accutane, for my skin. Now I can't watch ten minutes of TV without seeing a lawyer's ad asking "Have you or a loved one developed ulcerative colitis through the use of Accutane? We can help YOU!" I've had a friend for seven years now who had colitis. You know how they treated it? Rerouted his digestive system through a hole in his side. So yeah, no experimental medication for me. =P

I can't really.. huh? So... Two? For some reason you just blew my mind.

I can't make babies so im all good to go in any situation!! Disease can be a problem I guess though!!
" Will it also make me bigger and increase stamina? "There are different pills for that.
You can't have everything in one pill.
Otherwise how would the pharmaceutical companies make money?
@KevinTheDeviant: Dude, yeah. Freaking creepy era we're in, imo.
@zonerover: Even that may be aggressive. What about long term affects on the children of men who used? Poison the well, poison the offspring?
Did you know that the rate of people unable to have children is on the rise, and is somewhere over 50% (iirc)?
Personally I blame birth control pills/meds for most of it and would not trust any of it. Most pills/drugs out there have not even been around long enough to determine long term side effects (like causing sterility, etc). Of course, that can be said for most things we consume these days... including Mountain Dew, heh.
Still, all that makes me extremely nervous about "modern medicine" and "scientific breakthroughs"; throughout history it hasn't taken long for science and medicine of an era to be completely obsolete and even be considered idiocy. What will people think 100 years from now? Probably that we ruined man kind with our self-anhiliating pills! :(
Are you sure about that i think thats how I was born!" There is already male birth control. It's called pullin' it out. "
there is such a thing as temporary male contraception that is perfectly safe. we saw this video in human sexuality class where these crazy dudes basically soaked their privates in warm water once a day for a month or so. their sperm count went to zero. after stopping this practice, their sperm count returned to normal. sperm can only survive at a temperature cooler than the body, hence the scrotum hanging away from the body. If they were exposed to a higher temperature, sperm survival and production go down. If you don't want to deal with something so awkward, I'd say go with condoms and have the girl take pills.
I just want to know about the timing on this thing. Do I take it right before I decide to glue her insides shut, or is it a few days before? TELL ME, HORNY MICE!!!
