The key thing when coming up with a band name is to imagine you make it big and are performing at some huge festival or something. Now imagine an announcer saying "Please welcome to the stage *insert band name*". The problem with a lot of smaller bands names is that they would sound horrible on a platform like that, and pretty much all the names suggested in this thread would sound crappy on a big stage like that too. When you find a name that you (and other people) can totally hear being said by an announcer at a big name event, you've got your band name.

i actually have a list of potential band names some where in my house , just too lazy to look, grizzly bear cage fighters was all i could remember

Cheaper Than Opium, Blood Moon, and Parallax are esoteric names for a band that come to my mind.
