So I was just browsing the internet on mom's computer the other day when she basically says out of the blue that she thinks I need a new computer. I give her a triple take or something to that effect and I realize that she's not joking around. Man that computer breaking might be the best thing to happen to me in a while. Now those videos that took 3-4 hours to render will only take 5 minutes. Sweet. The stats are below, it's nothing super special, but ran just over $700 at ibuypower -- and if you seen stats of my old one, you'd be excited too.

New Specs:

Not top of the line by any means, more like playing catch-up

Damn, son. Maybe now it won't take 3 days to render out a 5 minute video.

I don't think it'll improve nearly as much as you think it will.

Very nice setup, lordofultima. Add "bigweasel" to your Xfire friends list, and we'll game sometime.

It's not bad for $700, especially considering you didn't buy the parts yourself. You might want to upgrade the graphics though.

Yeah... my computer is getting pretty long in the tooth. I'm building my next one. You should be able to play some pretty good games on that... have fun and whatnot.

Was thinking the same thing. The GPU on that rig doesn't really come up to the same standard as the other parts in it. But shop around and you will likely find a good deal on a decent GPU.

Well, considering the same 20 second video in after effects takes 45 minutes on my old machine to 3 in my moms, and considering that my computer that is shipping is better than hers, I'd say it's eons beyond. not 3 hours = 3 minutes, but you get the picture. It will also be able to run programs without chugging every time I reposition some object or text.

As for the graphics, I don't really play PC games anymore, sad but true. Just a editing rid nowadays. I'll be on steam though for sure, lordofultima is the name. Check it.
