Official World Cup 2010 Thread

 Group A: South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France  
  
Group B: Argentina, South Korea, Nigeria, Greece 
 

 Group C: England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia

Group D: Germany, Australia, Ghana, Serbia

Group E: Netherlands, Japan, Cameroon, Denmark

Group F: Italy, New Zealand, Paraguay, Slovakia

Group G: Brazil, North Korea, Ivory Cost, Portugal

Group H: Spain, Honduras, Chile, Switzerland  

My national team didn't make it, how obvious is that? 
 
Anyway, I suspect Spain will take it!

I'm just glad we qualified to the World Cup. It had been 28 years since are last appearance. Go Honduras!!!

Come on England! Glad we got seeded in pot 1 so we don't have to play any of the tougher teams in the group stages.

S. Korea and Serbia are my picks for the dark-horse of the cup. they were killing it the qualification rounds  

Oh man, if Serbia got a bunch of wins and upsets I would have a field day. I love them too.

  It should be a great World Cup, I'm really looking forward to it. hopefully I'll be making a visit to watch a match.
 
 I'm glad England are seeded and out of harms way early on. We've got a very good chance next summer. 

to me it seems also a guarantee that Serbia makes it to the top 16  

Unfortunatley my country isn't in it....yet. Come on Fifa, pllleeeeease?!! 33 is better than 32!

Eh...yeah, my country didnt make it...you may have heard, a certain player cheated to knock us out. 
Anyway, Ill be supporting the Netherlands instead. I wouldnt mind England doing well either (Im not a grudge-holding Irishman), they have a great manager, and some excellent players. 
I realise theyre hosting it, but South Africa are seeded? C'mon, theyre not even the best African side.  
Also there could be one really strong group - you could have Brazil, USA, Ivory Coast and Portugal all together...

I've always liked watching France play, but they have to get Domenech out of there so he can stop playing Viera and calling up players that are well past it.   
 
My gut says England have a chance to win, but my head says England is England and will lay an egg in one of the knockout rounds

I want either France or Spain to win. But I don't think the final will be able to top the 2006 world cup final. That was one of the most dramatic matches I've ever seen.

I think the "surprise" team will be Slovenia. 
 
I would like to say Mexico is going to win the cup but to be realistic I think it's going to be Spain, England or Brazil.  
 
Spain has been winning like crazy since some months ago.  
Chile has been playing really good matches, I think nobody wants to play against them or Spain.

Only few hours to go until the draw. Hopefully we don't end up in a 'group of death' (worst possible draw could be England, Ivory Coast, Portugal and USA) but even if we do I think we'll be able to get past it.

Toughest groups looks like it's G but group D is pretty hard too. England should easily qualify to the next round. The only challenge is USA but I think we're better then the Americans.

If there are not 1000000 Don't Tread On Me flags flown during that England vs. USA match this country isn't doing it right.
 
I know the flag makes you a redneck who lacks any self awareness but this is the one situation where its pretty damn awesome.

Great draw for England. It started off badly. The USA was probably the worst team to get from pot 2 (with the possible exception of Australia) but Algeria & Slovenia are both great teams to get. We're never going to win the world cup though. 

Just wondering, my two teams are Turkey and Sweden? Didnt they make it?

Italy have a fairly easy group, Spain have it pretty easy too. 
Agree with the you about England, they should qualify without too many problems. But they could also face Serbia in the 2nd round, which could be more of a challenge.

Spain don't have it that easy against Chile, they're playing really good, Spain vs Chile will be a great match "

I think that both England and USA should qualify from the group (no offence to Algeria and Slovenia). I am glad that England vs USA is the first match in the group because it should mean that they both put out their best teams rather than if it was the last game in the group and they had both already qualified and just put out their B teams.

England's group couldn't be better. That said. it hasn't stopped us fucking it up in the past. Next summer should be good.

Go Socceroo's! The draw could have been better or worse for us but if we can not get humiliated by Germany in our first match we should go alright. 

 England's group should be great for forum relations during the summer.  

Im supporting Brazil since Scotland never made it, but hope the USA beat England.

Last WC i'd supported itay from the start, lets see whether i feel like supporting them this time as well..
