I got this thing for a dollar mainly because I had no idea what it is, any help would be appreciated.
That, old bean, is a cylindrical cage the likes of which are sought after by millions and millions of cylindrical cage collectors. By buying this piece, you have opened the floodgates, and will live out the rest of your days harassed by frenzied cylindrical cage fans.
Either that or it's a sex thing.
Key features of thing:
1. Two tabs welded in middle of each half
2. Two square bits welded in corners of one half
3. Metal parts with holes on top and bottom of each half - possibly for connecting with metal rod? Not for rotation since both holes are not centred
4. No doors on side of thing which means this was probably used for storage - not catching animals
Where did you but this thing? Any notable landmarks around?
In all seriousness it might be some kind of fry cage or perhaps used for catching small fish, though I am not sure if it is the right type of metal for that. It definitely is not a roll cage for lotto drawings because it has no spot for the handle, not to mention the lack of an opening to insert tickets and such.
Looks like part of a raffle cage.
LOL! That would be pretty sad if it was a raffle cage. It looks so creepy in the OPs room with the low light, and wood panel walls. Like if he panned the camera just a bit, im pretty sure there would be a naked gimp chained to the wall in a leather mask with ball gag.
