We don't need to pussify our children any more. Nor should we condone excessive use of profanity.
But sometimes there really isn't a better word to use.
Should Swearing Be Allowed on this Forum?
Here's what you need to think about if you are in high school. Do you plan on trying to come onto the site at school once the school year starts? Does your school have a computer lab or computers in the classroom that you're allowed to go online with? If so, a site that has a lot of swearing or "inappropriate" material will quickly be blocked by the school administration. Trust me, I'm a former high school teacher. I know there's proxy sites out there that can help you get around the blocked sites but those get quickly shut down also. So while being allowed to swear is nice, it could prohibit you from being allowed on the site during school. Sure some people will say you shouldn't be on a site like this during the school day but let's be realistic. Hell, I was on Comic Vine all the time during the school day when I was teaching. Well not all the time but pretty frequently.

People should be allowed to express themselves. A fuck here or shit there can make posts feel more lively and natural.
"It's our damn mother fuckin right to cuss all we fucking want to. As long as we don't fucking insult some little tattle tell pussy with it."Amen
Well all those swear words are words with meanings and connotations, and swearing is a skill, just like constructing sentences. I find many people really aren't skilled at doing it. Saying it at every posting just waters the word down and I just filter all the swear words and exclamation points. Although it does sometimes saves me time. An all caps thread full of swearing? Skip. And over-swearing just makes you look neurotic (is everything that swear-worthy? ) and/or needlessly belligerent and/or uneducated.
Anyways, it seems here to say (no mod said no), though it doesn't seem clear when the line is crossed, so it will be up to the mod's interpretaion. Use swearing skillfully.

> Actually I did quit. I'm full time here and at Comic Vine. That's how committed and how much I believe in these sites.
Yay!, and I promise I'll get to get to those World's Finests, it's hard contributing to two sites.
I think swearing is fine, as long as it's not used in personal attacks like " You're a fucking faggot" or something along those lines.
"Unlike other gaming forums that I've come across swearing is allowed and tolerated. Is this right considering there are quite a few minors on this site."I don't mind people with typing tourettes.
While swearing isn't specifically forbidden, I don't see the need to use a swear word in a post unless you're quoting someone. Swearing is something people do to express emotion in the heat of the moment, or when around friends as slang or whatever...using it in a forum post is just laziness.
