So, back in 2003, Bush talked to the French president...

Incredibly, President George W. Bush told French President Jacques Chirac in early 2003 that Iraq must be invaded to thwart Gog and Magog, the Bible’s satanic agents of the Apocalypse….

After the 2003 call, the puzzled French leader didn’t comply with Bush’s request. Instead, his staff asked Thomas Romer, a theologian at the University of Lausanne, to analyze the weird appeal. Dr. Romer explained that the Old Testament book of Ezekiel contains two chapters (38 and 39) in which God rages against Gog and Magog, sinister and mysterious forces menacing Israel. Jehovah vows to smite them savagely, to “turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,” and slaughter them ruthlessly. In the New Testament, the mystical book of Revelation envisions Gog and Magog gathering nations for battle, “and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”

This is just embarrassing, it's as if the United States was living in the Dark Ages or something.

What funny is Americans complained about him non-stop for his entire term, yet the stupidity of the south kept him in for two terms.

I just think this is beyond most things that I've seen George Bush do.

Comments like this really piss me off. Stop generalising the entire population of the south. Not all of us like Bush and I sure as hell wouldn't vote for him.

I don't see what's so bad about that. You have got to give the guy credit for trying to prevent 2012.

While true, we do have a system where ELECTORAL votes are very important. Like me, I live in a VERY conservative state, I might not have voted for Bush, but it didn't really count, as the whole state went to him.

Correct me if I'm totally wrong.

You're right . When he said the "stupidity of the south" he makes it seem like he was calling us all stupid for voting for him. I didn't vote for him and i didn't want him to be in office so next time he should try not stereotyping southerners in his comments.

Get over it. This was a long time ago, and Bush is no longer president. So I don't care who he talked or talks to anymore.

Fundamentalists in the Middle East... how about getting rid of these wackos in the White House, P.S. Some of these neo-con idiots are still lingering around, they still pull strings behind the scenes, especially on foreign policy.

Complete and utter madness. I genuinely believe Bush thought of himself as some messianic figure doing God's work in the Middle East, and he saw America as some divine, holy vessel to accomplish his plans.

@damnboyadvance: You should educate yourselves in the mistakes of the past so you don't repeat them. Unless you actually think America is doing God's holy work around the world.
