I think the original Lord of the Rings was very good, the rest of the trilogy not so much. And while I have never seen Spartacus, Gladiator is my all time favorite movie and 300 is one of the best pure action movies out there. cuz, u no? THIS IS SPAAARTAAA!"

Well, I'm pretty sure the only actors/actresses of "my" time are Dakota Fanning and Haley Joel Osment, so I'm just gonna say my top 5.

I don't understand why everyone makes such a song and dance about them being able to... well sing and dance....
Actors have never stopped being able to sing or dance... they still were trained in it... many stars on who have never sung or dance of film have done so on stage...

For everyone bar Disney animation, Musicals died in the late 70's.  People just didn't want to see them anymore.
It's only since Moulin Rouge that they have came back into favour with the public at large... and for hollywood its a godsend, as musicials, while having a big budget, its clear where the big moments are, and they will be replayed by the rans over and over; meaning their money to amount of time played ratio is very good.

I've seen nothing special from the main actor is HSM... but its not aimed at me. I tried to watch, but it was not interesting at all for me(and I grew up loving musicals) because its not aimed at me.   So I haven't seen wehat he can do; but its far to soon to put him in the same league as Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Daniel Craig, or even Leonardo DiCaprio. 
Before you can say that they are one ofthe best actors of all time, you have to see a full range of what they can do, or they have to have a full range.

Those 4 actors I mentioned there can be be in almost any role, and you can believe it.  You don't have to suspend your disbelief, they do it for you.  It isn't glossed over by shiney lights and effects... their acting itself brings you in.  From generic villian to trusted friend, you believe it.
