I got this article on Twitter, its pretty amusing.

#2 Posted by Snipzor (3317 posts) -

Because you made a thread about it, I'll just say it. Yes, it is racist, and also sexist and creepily so.

Can someone explain to me how an Ivy-League school would allow scantily clad women to walk around the campus like that. Enough said, this movie is for the retarded.
#3 Posted by HandsomeDead (11863 posts) -

The black robots seem like the highlight of the film. Seeing how Jazz was the negro Transformer the first time, I suppose they have to have these two as spiritual successors.

#4 Posted by FlamingHobo (4483 posts) -

People are too PC these days, I think stereotypes can be funny if done correctly, so long as the film tries to make it out that it's not serious.

#5 Edited by mordukai (7184 posts) -

The movie is not racist or sexist its just plain stupid.I mean look who directed it and who his starring cast in it.

Shia "I can only play the same character" Labeouf
Magen "I can't act for shit" Fox

Uh... did you not notice that the only "good" robot who died in the first movie was the black one?

Some of you need to lighten the fuck up. Holy shit :-/

I saw the movie yesterday, and this article is kinda true. But is also kinda ridiculous, yes there is an old man eating noodles but what do you expect him to eat.

The sexiest thing is true, but thats why most teenagers are seeing it so they can see Megan Fox wearing short shorts the entire movie.

Gangster robots are retarded though.

I was talking to some of my younger brother's friends, and they were all saying they thought Megan Fox is hot, even the girls.  In my opinion, she's a large plastic mannequin who isn't built the way I like a woman to be built.  I don't like that kids nowadays only get to see plastic bitches put forth as sex symbols.  No, I don't have a problem with pushing sex to teenagers; high school boys need something to think about, if you know what I mean.  It's just that girls are gonna get the wrong idea about what guys want, and guys will have unrealistic expectations when they want a girlfriend.  I sure as hell don't like mannequins.

You sound just like the idiots over at that one message board where a bunch of crazy 19 year old dudes cry and pray constantly and ask for forgiveness from women because they watched porn and now have unrealistic expectations about every single chick they meet.

I like how you take everything to the extreme.

It's ok to have morals and a mature opinion, not everything has to be sex, drugs, and explosions.
#15 Posted by RHCPfan24 (8609 posts) -

Michael Bay has stereotypes in his movies? NO WAY!!

Nonetheless, I found that article amusing and I am sure it is all true.

Not to be a douchebag, but your the guy coming across as the idiot here. He just stated his opinion, no need to associate him with the idiots you speak off. His opinion is just as valid as anybody else.
#17 Posted by RichardLOlson (1852 posts) -
Yeah after reading that, I think that he might be alittle racist....but people do read to much into movies.
#18 Posted by super_machine (1931 posts) -

Michael Bay can only create characters that are cliche and stereotipical. His imagination as a director is very limited.

There not the best characters in the film. Also pretty sure if a Robot was trying to speak like a human it would probably go for stereotypes.

#25 Posted by Pie (7110 posts) -

ARE THEY LIKE BLAT BLAT BLAT WITH DA BIGASS LAZERS SHOOTING FOOLS AND BANGING FOXY FOX!?!?!?!? Its just a bit of fun people, some simple mindless fun.....
P.S could anybody tell me if the gangsta robots could add to me lingo?

#26 Posted by teh_destroyer (3574 posts) -

" A black robot, zomg Bay is a fucking racist!" If you all don't like his movies, don't watch them, simply put. This is a pitiful way to attack someone who has made a lot of good summer action movies.

Touche - again, that was done for laughs. Unfortunate that our serious, in depth entertainment discussions are overlooked or mocked for pieces like that which were done for a quick laugh.

*sigh*

Thats probably how people talk in "da hood".

I want a Cole Train transformer!  And he played ThrashBall on Cybertron.  Hellz yeah.

Hmm, it's slightly amusing but the film does kind of seem genuinely racist. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who would rather have a movie filled with racial stereotypes than watch anything that challenges their stereotypical view of people.

Anyways, I don't see the big deal about stereotypes in movies...  Everyone in the right mind knows that it's a joke.  Sometimes you have to step out of your "politically correct" mindset and have some good laughs.

It seems that white people are much more sensitive to racial stereotypes than anyone else, and we freak out like "ZOMG is that gonna offend them!?"  But in reality, very few minorities give a shit.  All of my black friends think racial jokes are hilarious, including ones about black people.  The only case where they actually find something racist is when somebody says the N word or anything about slavery.
