Hm. I usually leave them alone unless they get too close to me when I'm doing something I have to stay in one place to do. Then I usually use a shoe but I'll use chemicals if they are nearby.
I don't kill them. I have a few spiders living in my room, they're not venomous so who cares. You guys are babies. Although, you never know haha. One of my friend's neighbors got bit in the face by a brown recluse spider, and while they don't kill you, it certainly sucks to lose flesh.
I normally don't bother them as they're good to have around, but they have a habit of being all over the place in my room during the spring and summer. If I catch one dropping down on a web from the ceiling about to land on me, I'll usually bat it with the nearest remote.
I set it free by putting it in a cup and letting it outside, however, if they pose a threat, I will not hesitate to use a massive object to beat you over the head with... Perhaps a can of coke will do the trick.
