For most straight liquors, I agree with you. However, some are just too good for mixing. Like I'll never mix bourbon with just about anything. But Southern Comfort or vodka are just great mixers.

I guess I just haven't found a drink worthy enough to mix with a soda. Cranberry is different however seeing as it adds flavor.

ehehe, I can admit it... certain liquors I simply cannot tolerate neat. Others I can but it's really just preference and I happen to enjoy it mixed with juice/soda.

I actually like my fair share of girlie drinks like daiquiries, mojitos even a slight splash of cranberry juice in my vodka now and then(Still doesn't make it a Cosmo!)
I had an ex who was a bartender, which was a pretty sweet deal. i'd swing by her job, scam free drinks and then we'd go to her place to fuck. If we actually liked eachother it'd be an awesome relationship.
Mixers in general I am fond of whiskey sours. If I'm not too lazy to just use sour mix I like splashing in a little soda water to carbonate it a little. They're bitter, just like me. The main problem is a night full of those really lead to some heartburn the next day. True Jaegerbombs are hard to come by her due to the ban on Red Bull. The closest we have is Jaeger mixed with something called Battery, but that mix is way better to drink normally as a mixed drink. I love Manhattans, but there are so few bartenders who can make a truly good one. And I always feel like I'm missinga smoking jacket while drinking one while playing some Cole Porter on the piano.
There just openend an awesome Tiki bar in my neighborhood. They serve all sorts of swanky things from Blue Hawaii to Zombie to regular ass Mai Tai served in cocnuts, hulagirls or Tiki God heads and the interior is all fixed up in a splended mix of the fifties and pacific awesomeness.
On another tangent, not to sound like a complete snob, but for whoever said people ruin their Jack Daniels with Coke, I got news for you. Most Jack Daniels' are ruined already in my eyes. I find them way too sweet to use for anyhting but mixers. I'm not a huge whiskey connsenieur though. There's a kickass whiskey bar in town here which is great if your buddies and you have a lazy evening cause the bartenders there know their shit. They've got all sorts of brands I've never heard of and you talk with the dude about what kind of taste you like. Smokey, sweet whatever and you then can buy a snifter glass for a taste and a smell before you order your two finger's worth. Pluss their toilet is kickass, it's hidden behind a bookshelf and the pisser's shaped as a gargoyle's head

Any type of beer really, my favorite beer would have to be guiness though, not a good party drink but its nice when i come home from work, turn on the TV and poor myself a glass of smooth guiness.

It's not my favorite. I can't really decide what my favorite is, but it's the one I most commonly drink.
Favorite beer? I HATE dark beers like Samuel Adams. I tried to acquire a taste but I don't like it at all. I'm not a big fan of European beers, but my experience with them is limited since I would rather buy an American beer than a European beer.
My favorite beer is Yuengling. Its amazing. Its classy, American, and tastes wonderful. You can drink it for flavor, or you can take it to a party and drink it to get drunk. It's the best for both.
I've tried Blue Moon, Kalamazoo Stout, and many other "fancy beers", but none of them taste as good to me as Yuengling.
But if you just want to get drunk fast, and don't want to spend much money, get some Natural Lite or Keystone. Keystone's $12 for 30, and Natty's $14 for 30. I've acquired a taste for both haha.
Depends on the mood. Magic Hat #9 if I'm in a casual beer mood, Jager for some more serious drinking, 151 & Coke if I want to time travel in my own vomit.
I love a good wine more than any other alcohol at this time; used to be a beer man. My favorite white is King Estate Pino Gris. I prefer reds to whites, but don't have a favorite red right now.

Or they just don't like the taste of pure alcohol but do enjoy it in mixed drinks? People's palates are different. My Brother loves the taste of a straight, single-malt scotch and I can't stand it. Nothing to do with being a "pussy", it simply tastes bad to me.
