Just wondering how many other people here play a real instrument.
Who here plays a real instrument?
Well, the Rock Band 3 keyboard can be played as a MIDI keyboard, so I guess technically I do. However, I would like to get a bass guitar one day and practice with it.
I am a percussionist. Not strictly a drummer (though I do play drum set), but mallets, auxiliary, the whole shebang.
I own an Ocarina, but I could never figure out to make it do anything but make a loud whistling noise. I always wanted to learn how to play something, but my school never offered a music class so I never had the chance.
I would also like to add conch shell to the list. Not really sure if that counts as an instrument, though.
Hah!" Violin and piano.Asian, much. "
Anyway I am a percussionist/drummer and I marched for three years playing bass drum for the Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps. (WORLD FUCKING CHAMPS IN '06 BABY!!!) It's been a while since I played anything real, but Rockband at least keeps my chops up for the time being.
Once I move out of my apartment into a real house I totally plan on picking up a real set and making some fucking noise! Oh yeah, and and Ion set for RB because in the future I will be rich.
Drums.
I'm pretty good when I practice regularly.
...my little brother, who started playing drums because of me, is really good - so I fall back on that.
I have played saxophone for about 12 years, mostly tenor and bari but some alto, also. I can also play guitar and piano, albeit very poorly.
Brass instruments and guitar mainly. I can essentially strum a piano, and I do alright behind a kit.
I'm decent on the piano, practicing every day. I have an old acoustic guitar that I've been learning chords on, but it's pretty busted up and doesn't sound all too great so I don't practice as much as I should. Once my funds are in order I plan to get a Bass and, believe it or not, a flute.
Also, I know my way around FL Studio, if that counts.
i play drums and half ass guitar. im also lead singer in metal bands. here are a few of my songs with me "singing" on. its metal so dont listen if you dont like heavy music. www.mymusicstream.com/tunaburn
guitar, drums, ukulele (barely), piano, saxophone
Went to school for Guitar, so I also learned a fair amount of Piano in the process. Add Bass and Drums and you have all the instruments I currently play with at least some level of proficiency (although drums are by far my worst instrument). I also own an Ocarina and Harmonica, neither of which I can play worth a lick. I also can fiddle around on Banjo, Ukelele and Mandolin, but I don't know much beyond a handful of chords on any of those. I also would like to take up a Brass and Woodwind instrument, so that I could improve my understanding of how to write and arrange for different instruments. But this thread isn't about instruments you want to learn, so...
Drum Set
Trumpet
Baritone
Tuba
Drumline
- Quads
- Snare
- Bass
- Cymbals
Always wanted to learn Bass guitar and piano. Never got around to it.
