    My Halo 3 ODST Review

Halo 3 ODST is the newest installment in the Halo universe.
you start out in the city of New Mombasa six hours after a drop goes wrong.
You are now by yourself, the rookie of your group.
Now you have to search the streets of New Mombasa and find clues as to what happened to your squad-mates.
The missions are perfectly balanced with enemies galore.
If you like to covenant kickass this is definitely the game for you because of the new feature firefight.
Firefight allows the player to take on waves and waves of enemies with up to three other players over Xbox Live or system link.
Enemies get harder as the rounds progress, five waves in a round, three rounds in a set.
But if all this is unappealing to you, Halo 3 ODST also comes with a second disk, the complete Halo 3 Multiplayer experience.
The disk is used just like your normal Halo 3 disk, except for the fact that you no longer need to hold on to your Mythic, Legendary, Heroic, and Cold Storage Map Packs.
Why is that you say, well the disk comes complete with not only the original four map packs plus the newest installment in the mythic map pack, complete with the Midship remake Heretic, plus Citadel and Longshore.
Unfortunately besides the maps, the biggest difference between your normal halo 3 disk and the complete Multiplayer experience is that there is no campaign. But who needs the campaign all of your fun will be against real people during matchmaking instead of A.I. that run straight at you guns-a-blazin.
This game comes with all of your halo essentials, including theater mode to get all those delicious screen shots to upload to your file share.
Back to the ODST missions, each mission introduces and lets you get a feel for each different character in your squad, starting with Gunnery Sergeant Buck, then you choose your path as to where you decide to look next, each different clue unlocks more of the story, and you can find them in any order you want.
the story is pretty linear though, all of your squad-mates except for you end up finding each other. This bothered me a little bit because if i read my map right, buck should have passed right under you during the first mission.
Buck, i guess just didn't notice that the newest member of his squad was embedded in a building forty-feet above his head while trying to save his girlfriend...*what a douche*...anyway back to the story, everyone but you a.k.a. the rookie, and dare end up finding each other until the very end of the game where you drive on a highway that feels a lot like the end mission for halo 1, now i wonder why. ;)
Besides Having to protect Virgil or VRGL as his service tag shows, and dare in the elephant, the last mission is probably the most fun, especially when trying to get the Deja Vu achievement.
Guess what Bungie aren't bad guys, the mission seems impossible, until you get onto the highway. the first tunnel on the highway has two mongoose and four rocket launchers, now this seemed like a waste at first until you pick one up. These badass weapons have gotten a Bungie pimping with exactly 1000 rockets, but no matter how hard you try its just about impossible to use them all, so don't get rid of it.
One more achievement down on the road to recon. Fans of the series will be not so pleased to find that two weapons, at least that's how many I've found, have been taken out of this game, firstly the Battle Rifle is gonzo, but Bungie why, they claim budget cuts, but i think its because they just didn't like it, they said so during a news conference. Secondly the Energy Sword is also gone, but that one makes sense because only two elites are even on the game and they are dead when you find them.
Fighting still feels like halo except for that a brute shot takes two hits, direct of course, to kill you, your week is the point, health packs are back and in the plenty, this feels feels even more like Halo because of the fact. also instead of shield you have Stamina that works the same as it did in halo 3. Besides all the downs, the game is still worth getting because you will have so much fun with it, trust me it never gets old.

      From Bungie With Love 0

Right off the bat, let's get one thing straight here. Halo 3: ODST is a Halo game-- more specifically, Halo 3 with some slight tweaks. The core gameplay is all still here, just as strong as it's always been. If you've never been a fan of Halo's style of gameplay however, ODST is not going to change your mind. Some periphery elements have been changed, but at the core there is little different in ODST that will attract new players. That fact might seem elementary, but it's important to remember;...

Sometimes low expectations are a really good thing.. 0

I´ve played through all of the Halo games at least once and I enjoy them as shooters. But I´m not a huge fan of the universe and I don´t think I´ve played the multiplayer even once. I´ve always managed to get caught up in the hype machine for each game but this time I was kind of unaffected by it. I still decided to pick ODST up and boy did I benefit from my low expectations. I went in expecting an ok expansion for Halo 3 but before the campaign was over I ended up feeling like this is my favori...
