I just had a dream where this game got 3 stars on Giant Bomb. Jeff reviewed it. He said that, "While it may look pretty, there's virtually no game here."

Haha, the game does look very pretty, and it does sound like something Jeff would say.  We'll have to wait and see.

Based on how they talked about it on the podcast, I'd probably agree.  If it's as good as the first third of Indigo Prophecy throughout it really would be one of the best games of the adventure genre ever.

It currently looks like a two star title to me but maybe I'll be pleasantly suprised.

I've never been one to cough at 'top-of-the-line' graphics but I'm worried that Heavy Rain is gonna stretch that too far.

I think it's a little early to be guessing scores about this game. There has been one video shown so far.

I don't think so. It's shaping up to be quite similar game play wise to Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy and that was a well received game.

Maybe even less. I'm a Sony fanboy but the hype for this game is way too high. I can't wait to see all the low ratings this "game" will get.

Anyone else but me see this as a 5 star title :/ ? It looks like a big step up from what we have now in terms of storytelling.

Frankly I am not quite sure Jeff is the right person to review this type of game. I think Brad, Vinny, or even Dave are better suited for this type of game. Jeff and Ryan just always come off as gamers who won't really dig into this type of game. I think Alan Wake is more appealing to them then Heavy Rain.  Personally I am extremely excited for this game and I couldn't care less what Jeff or any other guys think about or what score they will give it. Heavy Rain is not a game for everyone and I can see a lot of gamer bashing the living daylights of this game while other will praise it as the most original game to grace gamers in a long time.  However, Jeff did prove me wrong on the inFAMOUS Vs. Prototype issue so maybe he'll surprise us all.

The batshit crazy Matrix/AI/magic bums was way too huge of a juxtaposition to the really awesome down to earth feel of the start of the game.I really dug the first part of that game. Oh yeah, the two stealth levels later in that game were HORRIBLE!And despite all this, I still feel everybody should try Indigo Prophecy, it's a pretty great experience, so I'm very excited about Heavy Rain.Especially if David Cage is telling the truth in keeping it grounded in reality. I hear Jeff is traversing between peoples dreams reviewing games in a way which individually caters to each specific person.

Maybe Jeff will read this, give the game 3 stars and use that exact line in his review just to totally freak you out.

Yeah I can see this game getting pretty "average" reviews. Mostly because there probably won't be any real gameplay mechanics, just a bunch of QTEs. Personally I love QTEs (Playing through Ninja Blade right now!!) but I can see this game getting 3 stars, MAYBE 4. Obviously we only know about the game from the videos, but all the videos looked to have the same sort of thing - QTEs. I also am worried about all the characters. Are there too much to the point that we won't be able to get attached? I found that even in Indigo Prophecy I didn't care batshit about Carla and Tyler at all, and they were the whole other 2/3 of the game. And that was only with 3 characters!
