Algol, the Hero King, is the final boss in the game Soul Calibur IV, and is the creator of Soul Calibur. Algol wields both Soul Edge and Soul calibur . He is also said to hide ten distinct weapons in his body, like a cannon that forms around his hand.
Heishiro Mitsurugi is a wandering samurai determined to prove that he is the greatest swordsman in the world. Due to his aggressive, arrogant demeanor he is often tempted by Soul Edge.
Ivy is the busty femme fatale of the Soul Calibur series. She is known for her whip-like sword, conspicuous lack of clothing, and voluptuous figure.
Maxi debuted in the original SoulCalibur and has continued on into the sequels that have followed. Using his powerful nunchaku, this wandering pirate can certainly hold his own against any threat.
The living incarnation of Soul Edge's pure, malevolent will. Known as Soul Edge or Inferno, it is the source of corruption that transformed Siegfried into Nightmare.

Tira is a dangerous lunatic, dedicated to the evil blade Soul Edge and its physical manifestation Nightmare with such intensity that it borders on religious worship. Her razor sharp hoop sword and flock of crow spies are her trademarks, along with her split personalities.
Italian fighter in the Soul Calibur series. Voldo is a fearsome and unpredictable warrior who does not speak, only emitting strange breathing sounds and shrieks. At 67, Voldo is the oldest main character in the Soul series whose lifespan has not been magically enhanced somehow.
"Yoshimitsu" is a name used by the current leader of the Manji ninja clan, wielding a sword of the same name, head-to-toe custom armour, and a prosthetic right arm. In this way, there has always been a Yoshimitsu, from the 16th century to the present, in various Namco fighting games.
