So i was checking Jeff's gamertag profile and Kane and Lynch 2 appears as one of his played games, he must already have a review copy, i guess that means the review will be put on the site next monday when the game releases. I though this was interesting that's all.
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Aug 17, 2010
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days makes a notable switch of the titular duo, with James Lynch now taking up the role as lead protagonist over Kane. However the two are still once again forced to endure a hail of gunfire as they find themselves embroiled in Shanghai's criminal underworld.
Jeff is already playing Kane and Lynch 2: Dog days
Indeed it is. With any luck, this might not turn out too badly. The demo was really fun, but something tells me the style will get a little old after awhile. I smell 4 stars, maximum.
" @Abyssfull said:Well duh. But sly gags are still a must. Just to prove how way in the past it is." I'd imagine Jeff was one of the first people they sent the game out to. They need his forgiveness! lol "I think Jeff and the IO Interactive don't give a shit about that anymore and want to get it behind them "
Kane and Lynch 1 was one of the best games ever because it indirectly created one of the best websites ever.
" @TooWalrus said:Oh, see I think the style is really cool looking, but then again I've never had a problem with any kind of motion sickness that didn't result from a tire swing. The quick look actually made me excited to play it." I'm probably going to buy the game, what I've seen so far looks pretty cool. I'm looking forward to the review though. "I feel the video style they went with it is really going to make some people vomit. Watching the quicklook really made my stomach churn "

Well, if it hadn't been Kane and Lynch, it would have been some other high-profile game. Josh Larson wouldn't have condoned genuine low scores of any games whose publishers he and the sales team had arranged lofty advertising deals with. Eidos was just the unlucky publisher to get their hand caught in the cookie jar.
I think somebody else should probably review it... Kudos to him for taking it on, but Jeff can't possibly win here. I know he'll call it how he sees it, but people are going to question the veracity of the review regardless of whether it's positive, negative or anywhere in between.
It seems like everything they changed in the game, was based on Jeff's complaints about the first one (I know, he probably wasn't the only one, but never read any other reviews for the game).
Rofl this topic is hilarious, I thought the demo was fun and a lot better than the original game so 4/5 stars sounds about right.

Out of interest did you try the demo? I found watching the game on the quicklook quite hard because of the cam shake etc but when you play it the effect works quite well and doesn't have the same effect, maybe because you're in controll and know what its going to do next.
Also is there a good place to read the whole Jeff/Kane and Lynch story? I heard roughly what happpened but not the proper details.
Also i wonder how is Jeff gonna review the multiplayer component of the when the game isn't out yet, is he gonna play with other game reviewers that got the game early? Or will the developers play the game with him? Or is he gonna wait until the game is released and play with random people online? I have no idea how GB staff handles this sort of situations.

I agree, but I would argue that those people don't matter. Jeff not reviewing it because of people who will make assumptions and have uninformed suspicions would just be a copout. The circumstances for which people are naturally going to raise questions about the review, regardless, are also why Jeff is naturally the one who needs to review the game, in the first place.
Guys, can we stop the jokes about Jeff getting fired after this review? That joke wasn't funny two years ago, and it doesn't get any funnier if ten thousand people repeat it.
" @HandsomeDead said:For the first time ever, I'm glad I don't pay attention." Has someone already said he's going to get fired? "Was the first reply to the topic O.o "
" Guys, can we stop the jokes about Jeff getting fired after this review? That joke wasn't funny two years ago, and it doesn't get any funnier if ten thousand people repeat it. "This. People need to let it go. Jeff never mentions it, so I don't understand why people are like "Oh man he's gonna get fired again oh noes!" and "Wow kudos to Jeff for reviewing this game he got guts man!" It's actually starting to get rather annoying.
On Kevin Van Ord's twitter, it says he's played it too.
BIG NEWS OMG A REVIEWER IS PLAYING A GAME BEFORE RELEASE.
Kane and Lynch 2 itself is an allegory for the post-'incident' emotions- play through the game and you will notice this.
Haha just kidding, though wouldn't it be great if you could interpret it that way? You probably could..
Well I am getting my review copy soon so who knows. :P" Kane and Lynch 2 itself is an allegory for the post-'incident' emotions- play through the game and you will notice this. Haha just kidding, though wouldn't it be great if you could interpret it that way? You probably could.. "
If it gets a 3/5 or lower i will laugh so hard i will change my status to "suck shit Kane and Lynch" forever.
" Well, he seems to be racking up the achievements in it. So he's either enjoying it, or they're easy to get. He just played it again today also... "That and the fact that he didn't think the demo sucked gets my attention. I'm very eager for his review of the final product.
