It is named after the Kowloon Walled City. It has been originally build as a military fort in the end of the 19th century. It's population increased dramatically during the World War 2. From the 1950s to the 1970s it was controlled by Triads. In 1987 it had 33 000 residents, but the same year the Hong Kong government took decision to demolish it. It was demolished in 1994 and there was build a Kowloon Park on it's place.
