History
Larry Butz is usually seen working odd jobs, and can be described as incompetent. While Larry is mostly harmless, he has a way of attracting trouble, which led to
people close to him inventing the saying "When something smells, it's usually the Butz." He also has a reputation of chasing women, having a long list of women that he has attempted to date.
As a child, Larry Butz met his lifelong friends
Phoenix Wright and
Miles Edgeworth when Miles and he stuck up for Phoenix after he was
accused of stealing someone's
lunch money. The player sees Larry for the first time in
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, accused of his girlfriend's
murder. Later on, he is called as a witness in the murder of a defense attorney at Gourd Lake, where Larry was working as a hot dog
salesman.
Larry reappears in
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials & Tribulations as a security guard, and is found to have missed a buzzer from the office of the CEO of the
company that he works for. Afterward, he is fired, and becomes a painter in an attempt to make a new identity for himself, Laurice Deauxnim. He is a witness in the final case of the game, where he presents a (horribly drawn) picture of the burning bridge.
Afterward, he takes a new job as the Steel Samurai at stage shows, and is accused of murdering a copy-cat of Mask*DeMasque in the final case of
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.
