He has used magic spells to take control of Dracula's power, channelling the suffering caused by WWII through paintings that will make him invincible unless Charlotte Aulin and Jonathan Morris explore them to break the spells from within.

Dracula is the antagonist of Bram Stoker's 1897 Gothic horror novel Dracula. He has been featured in many video games, primarily in Castlevania.
The main character of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow saga. He was a knight of the Brotherhood of Light during the 11th century, but fell to darkness in order to save the world, and is now feared by all mankind as Dracula, lord of the vampires.
Laura is a little girl who was transformed into a creature of the night by the Dark Lord of the Vampires, Carmilla. Hundreds of years old, despite still having the body of a little girl, Laura considers Carmilla her "mother" and passes the time with sadistic versions of common games, though there is a part of her that still longs for something else...
The beloved wife of Gabriel Belmont, Marie was cruelly murdered, and he seeks the God Mask in order to bring her back to life, while her spirit watches from afar and occasionally offers hope and advice.

Supporting character in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
Satan is the Devil, the incarnation of Evil in the universe, the Lord of Hell, the Prince of Darkness, and a very prominent figure in the Abrahamic religions. Naturally, he appears in many videogames, often as a final boss or last encounter. He is commonly depicted as a tempter that leads the faithful astray, and it's generally a bad idea to trust him.
The first character to appear in a Castlevania game and easily the most referred to, Simon Belmont is the most recognizable of the Belmont protagonists and is endowed with the greatest of their legacies. He has also appeared in the most games within the franchise.
A recurring enemy/boss in the Castlevania series.
A magician who in Castlevania III aids Trevor Belmont in defeating Dracula. She married Trevor after the events of the game.
Trevor was the first in the Belmont Clan to fight and defeat Dracula. Trevor inherited the Vampire Killer whip from his ancestor, Leon.
Vincent is a monk who sells Jonathan and Charlotte items in Portrait of Ruin.
The Dark Lord of the Dead and one of the three Lords of Shadow, Zobek conspired to manipulate the human hero Gabriel Belmont into defeating his rivals, only to be struck down by the Devil himself. 1000 years later, he strikes a deal with Gabriel, now the vampire lord Dracula, to stop Satan from returning.
