Favourite Mario game of all time?
" @Willy105 said:Yes, Super Mario Kart had a lot of gameplay elements that were (inexplicably) left out of the modern 3D games. But all of those came back on Mario Kart Super Circuit, and were better than ever before." @TheHBK said:Oh man! Yes, getting further in the game can make it frustrating. Especially iin the 8th world where all you have is moving ships, but its so filled with tension. The bosses are super easy though. Please tell us that at least you think its better than Mario Kart 64! It may seem primitive but only in terms of graphics, music and some driving issues, but it had a lot of good stuff that I hated to see go. It had mode 7. Also, i thought the idea of running over the ? blocks was a good one for the time, and the fact that they would not come back, so once you used one it was red the whole race, and you could end up not getting anything if you used up a good section. Then the idea of coins and weight, I think the coins made a come back in Super Circuit. That was a good idea, that you needed coins to go a little faster and not get bumped into spinning out. "" @Willy105 said:Well, I guess my experience with it did not resemble awesome to me, more like frustration. Super Mario World however, was great. Super Mario Kart is also the worst of the Mario Kart series by far. Sure, ot was awesome when it came out, but after playing the sequels, the first one is just too primitive. And this is from the guy who liked the first Final Fantasy. "Holy crap, this is probably one of the worst posts ever made. I know its an opinion and everything, but can anyone deny the awesomeness of SMB3? For me its Super Mario World and then SMB3 in a close second. "" Is Super Mario Bros. 3 really that good? I own it, and I think it's the worst main Mario game ever made. "
Right now, playing Super Mario Kart will only show the very slippery and hard to use controls, the courses that do not match the character's capabilites of maneuvering thru them, and very high opponent difficulty.
Super Mario World.
It was the first game I truly hundred-percented. I think I was five or six, but I played the ever-loving bejesus out of it, and I still to this day remember a large portion of the secrets I found when I first played.
Super Mario World, but damn Galaxy was awesome as well. I played SMB. 3 after playing World, so that's probably what killed it for me.
Having just replayed this on the 3DS, I feel like this is the worst Super Mario game. I assume the music is mostly free domain with the exception of a very awkward Super Mario Bros. 1-1 theme soundalike. The control is ever so slightly off, and Mario can pass through solid platforms. Mario Land 1 was a shitty cash grab. What was with the Cannonball powerup? I feel like they were trying to give Mario his signature fireballs, messed up, and kept it in the game.
Galaxy is the best Mario game. Just listen to the music! NNNGGGGHHH!!!
