Wait a minute, I thought it took two moderators to delete a page, not just some guy with 1000 points. Also, how did Dave not build in a way to track edits and deletions? That's the first thing I'd do if I was gonna give the filthy public live edit access to a database.

I am not surprised. There is vandalism on every wiki out there, why should giantbomb be the sole expection? Yes, it's sad, but that's just gonna happen. Not much anyone can do about it.

If you write a substantial wiki on a site where anyone can edit it I should hope you have the common sense to save a copy on your computer. This is only a big deal if the people writing major wikis don't back their work up, which would be just silly.

A user with over 1'000 points can effectively wipe the text off of the page, same thing really isn't it. Yeah I should think there would be, but that would be under the Engineers of the sites jurisdiction, Mods would not have that power,  I bet there are caches that the engineers can reboot, or something.  "

Well this gentlemen certainly isn't the most pathetic person wasting my oxygen right now. Maybe it's Endogene. His name was, apparently, Endogene.

We've managed to restore all the pages (that we know of) that had their content removed. We still don't know who did it though. The staff should be able to help us with that when they come online. 
 
Either way, if you come across any more pages that have had their content removed like this - please contact us immediately. 

Update: We have found the person responsible for this mess.  Order has been restored.
