Use UltraISO.  It's just a file compression program like 7zip but it deals with .iso files.  It opens, burns them to a disk, and you can make them, if you have the full version.  As far as opening a pre-existing file, the trial version should work for that.

A Battlechest might still sell for 50, but that would be multiple games. Well Battlenet is the best part of Diablo/Starcraft and he won't be able to play on that so whatevs.
