Imagine that you're ready to slam. You know it. Then imagine that, nah, y'all ain't ready.
Peter Molyneux
Peter Molyneux is a veteran British game designer renowned for his pathological lying, innovation with AI, and business simulation and RPG/God genres.
Welcome to the #molyjam2012
I'm glad the term game jam has been explained. I thought it was a big competition where people tried to out pitch each other with Molyneuxesque ideas for games, like a rap battle.
Man Space Jam is awesome.
I like that Patrick Klepek is part of giant bomb. I dig his unique happenings. This whole thing sounds interesting in a quirky/potentially creative way.

I don't get all the love and/or high praise for Molyneux? All I know of him is Fable and to be honest it's far from impressive IMO.
He made Populous, which was huge in the '90s and one of my personal favorites. He's also a very funny speaker (I saw him at the GDC last year). I've never even played a Fable game, but I really like Mr. Molyneux.
This is the coolest/weirdest thing I've read about in a long time. Can't wait to see what comes out of it!

This. Also before Fable he was directly responsible for a lot of great games with varying degrees of innovation. Fable may not have lived up to all the hype, but its far from a bad game, in fact it's a pretty good one. I personally thought that Fable II was a great game, sans the ending, and I fondly remember playing through the co-op with my girlfriend and having a blast. But besides all that, Peter's just a good, down to earth dude.

Brad: "That's a big part of it, yeah! Thanks!"

You can tickle 'em...IN SPACE!
This has to be one of gaming's proudest moments. Hold on tight, boys, we're about to enter a golden age.
If I had the Space Jam theme in my head then I would rapidly find a way to get it out. I would use a screw driver if necessary. And I don't mean the kind with orange juice and vodka, although that might work too and have considerably less tragic results.
@steve86uk: I know it's crazy. I was just looking through the comments to see if anyone actually mentioned Capone. I quite like that he's one of the only people to edit his page and there's no mention of twitter. I'm not doing it, I like that there's no info.
People should listen to some of his old Joypod features.
I'll be at the #molyjam2012 in Santa Monica. Anyone else going to this site for the jam? I'd love to meet other duders from the GB community there!
Also, raspberry jam is my favorite.
I expect they'll have the information once they've finalised it (which will hopefully be before the 7pm local start time, but these things are basically built on goodwill and community spirit* so it's all a bit of fun and you shouldn't expect unicorns flowing out of your screen if you decide to try and tune in).
* With a bit of 'if we give out free demo codes or trial/basic editions of our tools maybe we can sell some extra units next week' from some groups, but as they're normally the awesome teams who dedicate a lot of work to making the stuff they give out for free (basic editions, training and tutorials, open dialogue with everyone interested) that's a lot less sinister than the cynical might view it.
