Micro-Review: True to its roots with a surprise ending.
A beautiful game with a soundtrack that is good but not very deep. Personally I have never been a huge fan of POP gameplay in general and I quickly found most of the platform puzzles boring. And ohh those damn yellow plates pissed the hell out of me.
The overall mechanics of the game are very good, if not a bit overcomplicated at times. The story, which appears fairly thin at first glance takes a nice twist at the end that not only throws you for a loop at face value, but is even more intriguing when you find out what it really means. As with many origin stories so to speak the action, world and characters need to be setup and that is what Ubisoft did in this game. They basically set you up for game 2.
This is a great play-through of game if you are looking for something in the 10-15 hour range. Worth the play-through almost for the sceanry alone, but the sarcastic banter between the two main characters can be charming at times if you end up seeing yourself and your own loved one projected, but it is surpassingly one of the few games I have played where the I can actually see the love interests as a couple and not just two characters.
Overall it is a fun jaunt through POP territory you know and love for the mot part.
