The character is probably based off of R.O.B the accessory from the NES, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Rob the Robot and ROB 64 are the same character.  I'd argue in favor of keeping the first one since that's what he's known as in most games and has a bit more info on the page.
 
No secret identities or anything; the only reason I can decipher that there are two pages is that Rob had a '64' at the end of his name in Star Fox 64... as seemed to be the thing to do with almost everything on the 64.

it was kind of like a piece of candy. Good at the moment, leaves you wanting five minutes later for something else.
