@AhmadMetallic: Yeah, in the end, I think you were fairly spot on.

I'd bet most Max Payne fans will enjoy it as a whole thanks to the combat (especially playing with M+KB) and there are some funny nods in here to the first two games that are really cool, but I'm not finding the setting or the story to be as interesting as before.

Some nice writing I think. Even though that's also pretty different, I've heard some pretty good lines so far.

You guys are both right. Mainly because between the both of you, you had a nice discussion, listened to each other, took in what everyone else said. Didn't have an agenda to be right, more so bounced ideas of of each other, when some thing didn't stick one of yous didn't try and make it stick. Or stick your fingers in your ears and ignore things, then come back and argue the same point everyone has pointed out is erroneous biased and not even a valid point several times over. You had a good discussion that I think its puts most points to rest. We can all be calm and nice to each other.

I just wish people would be more flexible and allow views thoughts and opinions be changed when they make sense. AhmadMetallic I was surprised when you had a turn around with the well put model of If Rockstar is at fault then Rocksteady and Bethesda are also at fault. For being the ones that do what they do the best. We admit they are not perfect however when the next best thing is poor in comparison. It is because we expect LEAPS and MAJOR BOUNDS between games. Cant a game just be a good game without having to restructure a company from what it is good at?

You both have argued the point of the OP better, and due to your back and forth we have a modicum of sense.

@Akyho: No one has argued that the first two Max Payne games were Rockstar joints.

I just want to hammer more nails into pointing that Max Payne Rockstars direction isn't bad.

Gamespot talking to Remedy who made Max Payne 1 and 2, about Rockstars takes on Max payne 3. Remedy even talks about its a Rockstar game and thats good.

5.00 the bald guy who isnt Sam lake original face of Max payne and the writer. Which Sam lake also says Its a modern interpretation. Which Rockstar certainly has modern down.

"Also If you rinse and repeat what you have done before, we arnt adding anything new to the mixture. And there by default removing something from the mixture. Then your uhh going to end up with something kind of like the original, no I think its better you boldly have direction to go into and to build it."

So far? How long do you think this generation has left. Last generation spanned over 5, lets say 6 years, during which they produced 9 high profile titles. We're coming up to 7 years this gen, and as of this Tuesday they've shipped four high profile titles.

And the next high profile Rockstar game to be released will be GTA V, which will undoubtedly go back to the drawing board I'm referring to. These other projects since GTA IV should have been more original.

You keep forgetting. Rockstar "ONLY" did GTA serise, Manhunt, Midnight run, Bully and The warriors. GTA is GTA, Manhunt is GTA engine linear stealth. Midnight run is racing cars in a city...much like GTA, Bully is just GTA high school and The warriors is the only original non GTA game for Rockstar.

Dude come on. I fucking love The Warriors to death, and even that game is kind of GTA.

I was being very generous. The main fact you are not running around in a free roam environment shooting guns or have a car. However as you point out...even then...The Warriors is....a "ROCKSTAR GTA" game.

Everything else is not them that made and the "PUBLISHED"

Publishing is the process of production and dissemination of literature or information — the activity of making information available to the general public. In some cases, authors may be their own publishers, meaning: originators and developers of content also provide media to deliver and display the content for the same.

This means they did not make it.

You say 9 titles. 3 are Grant Theft Auto the epitome of Rockstar as Rockstar. 3 they didnt make. so that least 4 Rockstar games If you add in Midnight run.

@Strife777: I never mentioned Max Payne 1 + 2.

Aren't they in your list?

They are right there and here.

Last GenThis Gen

Actually....Rockstar had never done Read Dead and Max Payne untill now...so thats them branching out into diffrent things than just GTA! Rockstar is basically GTA,Bully, Manhunt,Midnight club....that's it. They just bring a certain Rockstar signature to them now that's all.

The point I was trying to make is they did more in their "Rockstar Bubble" last gen than this gen.

They have only made three games so far this generation. Its not diluted/evolved enough due to the same people making these games the at the same times with overlap. If they decided to bring the same effort and detail but radically different well....they wouldn't release another games for 5 years. Well good one at least.

They are doing as they do and they do it well, this means its quicker and higher quality. Than randomly shifting to an alien set up just because they shouldn't be allowed inside their "Rock star Bubble". Look at other studios who have done this, a number are closed due to getting in over their heads or the product just not being good enough. While a developer shouldn't be "type caste" for a certain game...it helps gain a reputation. Look at Double Fine that a $3.3million reputation for doing adventure games and doing them well.

They may be in a "Rockstar Bubble" I like it, I like Rockstar signature if it continues as is. Why fix something that aint broken?

Come back when she's over 3 million. Then we can talk about it being some sort of "Double Fine for music". Nah, it's good to hear that she reached her goal so fast.

True. However when it comes to the money, as Double fine has made it more public, $100,000 is enough for a little indie game scope with them, while $1,5mil is enough to make games like they have in the past, Stacked which was a Downloadable and relying on people to buy in on the whackyness came in that price bracket. With their $3,3mill they can take a little longer and make it bigger with more details and time. However it wont be anything mind bendingly special, this just means they can make something on par with their older games with the same attention of their modern games.

$3,3mill is small in the games world. You need to be Lady gaga and such to be considered for a million for your entire promotion and distribution. So for an indie muscian and with people tastes as they are, it just shows that fans want stuff and its the record companies that go "Nah we don't think anyone will want it, not even for $600,000, we are not doing it.".

Its very much in the hands of the Record company on exposing you to garner demand.

Never heard of her before, and those fucking eyebrows are preventing me from watching the videos.

I'm sure she's a very nice person, but... ugh.

She shaves them off and then uses Mascara to draw on what ever eye browns she wants that day. For the most part she likes Fleur lines.

Oh HER! I keep seeing her on TV here in Australia, but never know her name. It was only recently I realised she was the partner of Neil Gaiman. Now that I know she was with the Dresden Dolls I think I'll remember this time :P

She's a good performer.

Edit: Found a vid

She is an American, however for the last year or so she has been enjoying staying in Australia. OH! she is on a panel show! In Britain alot of people mostly comedians enjoy skimming around panel shows. So that's nice to see her there.

A concept album she did a year ago was song she wrote while in Australia. One nice song is Map of Tasmania, Which is a comment on how women should treat their map of Tasmania.
