" Maybe its way to early in the morning. And maybe I've only gotten a single digit number hours of sleep in the past 2 days. But I'm not finding this funny...at all.

In reality used games really is hurting the industry. It seems to me this guy is trying to make a mockery of that fact. Trying to make fun of people who think this is a big deal.

Sorry OP, but this really isn't funny. Hes trying way to hard.

The industry has survived for decades with used sales as a mere fact. Slowly, they've managed to take that freedom from the consumer, many games are impossible to sell used or even rent nowadays (especially on PC), and you think that's a good thing? If their revenue hurts, it's other factors they should consider before taking your rights away, eventually making it so you don't even own a given game, merely licencing its use.

As a sort-of-solution, rental copies could be different to standard copies and more expensive, perhaps even requiring some sort of online activation, so that the store would have to regularly purchase more licences or something. That could provide a revenue source to the publishers, as nowadays stores merely pay for that 1 copy like a single consumer does and proceed to profit from it multiple times. For used sales, that could also require registration of some sort for the store, and a % of that money would go to the publisher/developer of the given game again, so that they at least gain a little something from it. It would be hard to check, sure, and it would have to be done with the government's approval as some sort of law should be passed requiring detailed records keeping for such stores. Whatever, I don't know how exactly it would work, but things can be done to both not take consumers' freedom and also relieve some of the publisher burden. That way I could still sell my used games to friends but if I want to open a store that does that sort of thing regularly I have to give something back per se.

I agree with the article's point, I just don't agree with the stupid way he says it and in that he doesn't offer alternative solutions to merely condemnding used sales as a whole. So, yeah, shitty piece, but not because it defends used sales. Everyone should.

Someone mentioned reading SD contents is quicker now, but not the actual loading through it. Since you have tons of shit on it, is it?

It's not essential, it just has to do with the intro video telling you how to, uh, put the motion plus on your remote. Under some conditions it could be played every time you start the game, as opposed to just the first time, or something along those lines. Annoying. Couldn't they just patch the game code for the European release instead of release a patch just for that? Unless it does other things too...

Um, that was a joke. I guess. It's still a horrible piece (see my last comment), but yeah...

" Why did DToid ever give this guy a spot to write. I am convinced that Destructoid would be at least 1000 times better without Sterling. He is not funny, he is not smart, he is not informative, he is not witty, and he pretty much hates every damn game in existence. "
Yeah, this.

The satirical tone would be appreciated if it was like, just the first paragraph of an in-depth analysis showing why used game sales can be good. As it stands, this was pretty bad, not to mention he ends it in the opposite way, comparing it to lending your coat to a girlfriend or something. As someone in their comments said, used game sales = chivalry of the 21st century confirmed. Lol. He's sarcastic about the misrepresentation of the issue from developers and publishers, then he pulls the same shit to make his points in favor of what they're against. Pointless & shallow.

It's written horribly as well. The vicious effects of bad writing doesn't just stop at something so minor as a forum thread.

Edit: Half the article is the same shit he wrote ages ago to defend, uh, piracy. Right down to the alley attack. Lolwut? Pro-recyclation! Go Jim!

It seems to have a fighting mode where you can choose characters you've encountered in the main game (last video). So, not ending just yet?

I'd like to see more involved blocking. I was mostly using high and rarely low, enemies didn't indicate what way they'd hit. Similar for the actual attacking. Maybe with some visual cues (perhaps in the lock-on targeting circle's color?) they can make that a more integral aspect of the game.

That mech should be cool, I wonder if you use it in the city during an event, it sounds too big to fit in just another indoor level or something.

Also, it sounds short. 5 times the bosses but 1.5 times the length of the first? I guess that's cool too, it should be a much denser experience, but at least that alone indicates the open world is probably not as involving as some may have wanted, though personally I didn't think they'd expand it all that much, it's just not what the game's been about, and to make the sequel about that they'd probably need another year in development.
