Games I have purchased more than once

Once, when I was a 14 year old kid without a lot of money but with a lot of crappy games, I sold stuff. Sometimes, I sold stuff I would regret selling later on, thus leading to me re-purchasing them at some point in the future. Also, GOG and Steam happened, and those suckers always get me with their digital backup mumbo jumbo. In any case, here they are.

Sometime in the last decade and a half (and the eight or nine times I've moved since then), I've unfortunately lost a lot of my favorite games from my childhood, including all my LucasArts and Sierra adventure games. Some of them I've managed to purchase again (g'bless you, Steam and GOG.com), but some are seeming lost forever (or until LucasArts gets their shit together and teams with GOG). On the one hand, I'm not ashamed of some of the double purchases I've made - I've bought various Leisure Suit Larry, King's Quest, and Space Quest packs no less than three times apiece, and I don't regret them at all. Others I've only bought twice, like Police Quest, Monkey Island 1 & 2, Fallout 1 & 2, Jagged Alliance 1 & 2, The Witcher (don't ask, it was a drunken mistake that ended up costing me close to $60 - not that it's a bad game at all), Final Fantasy VII-IX, and a whole bunch of PSN re-releases of RPG's I haven't played in a decade.

But there are two games that stand above all else, and even though I love those two games dearly, I can't possibly come up with a logical explanation as to why I've bought them so often. The first is Final Fantasy Tactics. I bought it once when it was first released, once when I was in college and thought it necessary to buy a slim PS1, once when it was released on PSN, and more recently, when I bought my PSP.

And then there's Morrowind. I've bought that game an insane 5 times. The why's are insane, but suffice it to say that I've been fooled at least twice on a GOTY edition, lost one copy, and bought another on Steam because it was cheaper to buy it as a pack with Oblivion.

Five damn times.

@Sparky_Buzzsaw:5 Times? Wow... That does remind me though: At some point, maybe if I end up bringing my PS2 with me next semester or something, I need to actually get past the first few hours of FFT. I dunno. If I could speed up that game, I'd be far more willing to play it.

@ArbitraryWater:

A good part of me deeply, deeply enjoys slower, more methodical games. It's why you see me playing a ton of turn-based RPG's and strategy games. It's partly my visual problems with faster paced games, and partly just my nature. Final Fantasy Tactics is one of those games (and series, really) that I replay over and over again for its pacing and incredible depth and customization.
