@Rayeth:
is it? apart from the fact that it might be great content, is it really going to be that much of a big deal that you would not be able to enjoy the game?
that is the problem i have with gamers bitching about pre orders, it really is not a big deal. i mean the op even said that he was not going to buy the game because he couldnt get the free stuff. if bioware would have never made the content in the first place nobody would be upset, right? it's just a little stupid that people can get so worked up about it

it's like saying 'if you don't give me that pillow i'm not buying this house!'

@spazmaster666: okay, but why would You/ordinary people want a gun?  to protect yourself from the all the people that have guns right? so everybody is protecting themselves from everybody, its crooked

it is just an old rule that makes no sense anymore. i get why people would like drugs, but why guns?

Ja know what, guns kill people, regardless what the nra tels you.
homicides are more common in the us than anywhere in europe, (slight assumption)

some think it is necessary to 'protect' their family, but if everybody's carrying guns some are gonna start shootin them.
how can you be the bringer of peace, if you think that giving everybody the means to kill each other is a good idea.

also, rednecks have a lot more guns, why is that?
America is just plain ridiculous

Man i am getting pretty sick of gamers bitching about preorders, if you want your special bow and one piece of shiny armor get a 360.

these bonuses are reaaaly not that good, they never are, and people just get so upset over these tiny tiny issues: is it really going to kill you when you have 25 swords in a game instead of 26? even if i look at stuff like mass effect 2: crash at normandy, sure it played fine but it is like 1% of the experience.

a lot of games are all getting lured in by shops and sites to preorder (LOOK FREE STUFF), because everybody gets freaked out when game X receives a 87 on meta critic instead of a 92.

off course the pre-order thing sounds fishy at times, and i get that if your are not getting it, it could be upsetting.
but why do gamers get anal and upset about everything, its just a little sad!

@chan05: Jeah the problem for me is that you cannot order one from amazon.co.uk if you are not from there (if you are then you will probably not have the same problems), that means ordering from amazon.com without free shipping and a 15 euro import tax. that means it will be around 145 (depending on exchange rates).

I was really committed to the idea of buying my books from amazon, but when i found out most public domain books are free for Americans but not for us, it was a hard pill to swallow.
What finally tipped the balance was that a lot of the nyc bestsellers in physical form (paperbacks) were actually cheaper than the ebook version.

It probably has something to do with rules and regulations, but i felt extremely ripped off and then cancelled my order.
(dutch btw, dont know if that matters)

Well God f-ing damm, usually these things are kind of stupid.
those guys are REALLY making a mess of it.
it is just ridiculous, its been like 220 days or something.

just imagine 2 parties siting in a room just saying: no i do not agree with you for 2 thirds of a year.
Britain was done in 1 day!

I ordered one but cancelled at the last minute (turns out that Europeans pay 3-5 dollars extra per book and no free 3g)

The device itself is very nice, lasts for ages and very cheap. if you want a quality e reader it about the best you can do.
but loading your own ebooks (epub. and google books) is not possible, although it does support PDF if i am not mistaken.

So if you are willing to invest money into the amazon kindle store, this is the best way to go.
PS: go for the wifi edition it is a lot cheaper and 3g is not exceptionally usefull.

@MisterChief: Good point, but not all off whiskey sites are as resource intensive as giantbomb. comic vine and screened are very reliant of the stuff that comes out. I think that these segments are indeed better suited with less involvement from the gb crew (time wise).
